Chapter 24

"He's the boy with the electric personality. Another hero in the making: Denki Kaminari!"

The crowd erupted into raucous cheers, excited to see how the battle would play out. Who would make the first move? Who would set the scene? Kaminari answered their queries with a smirk.'

"Are you ready, L/N?" Kaminari called out, wiggling his fingers with anticipation. " 'Cause your world is about to become electrified by my charm." 

I swear I saw a few bolts of lightning flare up at his fingertips, sending an electric shock through the air. 'He's charging up,' I realised, seeing more bolts jump around his body.

"Versus... the powerful energy-bender - she can manipulate energy into whatever she wants. It's L/N Y/N!"

"Don't get too cocky now, Kaminari," I warned, setting myself in a defensive stance. "You're not the only one who has energy to burn."

"Let the battle... begin!"

The electric-head just smiled coyly at me, before launching at me with a quick bolt of electricity. Narrowly, I dodged out of the way, feeling a slight burning sensation graze my right side. 'Damnit, he's fast! ' I grunted as I dove out of the way again. 'He's not giving me anytime to attack him.'

I quickly realised that that was probably his plan - he was a long distance fighter, rather than a close-range fighter, after all. Kaminari shot another bolt at me, and another, and another, keeping me constantly on my feet.

'How does he have so much energy? His attacks are relentless! '

Although I hadn't used my quirk at all, I was tiring from being on the run. No matter which way I rolled or ran, my electric and perv of a classmate was always there, reigning me back in. I'd seen him fight in the battles on our second day of school, but that was nothing compared to how he fought now.

'Back in that simulation, he was just going through the motions. Now, however, he's fighting as if he has nothing to lose, and everything to gain. Kaminari is quite the formidable opponent... when he's not perving on girls and becoming brain dead.'

My eyes widened at the thought. 'That's it! Kaminari becomes brain dead after he uses one-point-three million volts, meaning he'll become incapacitated.' I smirked as I figured out my plan. 'Meaning I'll have the perfect opportunity to finish Pikachu here off. I just gotta be patient...'

"Tiring yet, L/N?" Kaminari taunted, pausing his onslaught for a moment. "The way this battle is going, I'll get that date, for sure!"

He was right about that. I was tiring; His constant attacks gave me no time to go on the offensive. 'But now...'

"Think again, Pikachu!" I cried out, sending a blast of energy right at him.

I saw Kaminari's golden eyes widened with surprise, however, easily dodging my attack without breaking a sweat. "Damnit," I cursed, preparing myself to go again.

However - just as fast as before - another lightning bolt came buzzing towards me. I didn't have time to dodge, so I instinctively raised my arms in a defensive position, forging a shield to cover me.

The attack hit my shield, but sent me stumbling back a few steps. 'That bolt was more powerful than the others before.' And just as quickly as it left, another electric shock came crashing into my shield. Suddenly, Kaminari's attacks were coming from the sides.

'What the heck! ' I thought angrily as I lifted my left arm to form a smaller energy shield. 'Since when could he do that? '

Block after block, his attacks kept coming, keeping me on the defensive once more. I blocked every attack, but felt no decline in his power. It was as if his drive to win fuelled his power.
