"Whether they realise it or not... the future of these kids rest of their shoulders."

Silence, like a weighted blanket, fell over all who occupied the room, waiting with dreaded anticipation for the next move. My friends and the children looked ready for the throw down, but who would take the initiative to start? The deafening silence was infuriating and torturous. Waiting only made me more tense, more worried.

The scraping of a boot against the ground tore through the silence, echoing about the huge room.

"Well, what are you brats waiting for?" Bakugou called, his lips tilted up in a cocky grin. "Let's get this fight over with-"

Bakugou leaned out of the way of an incoming black orb aimed straight for his face. It narrowly scraped by his head, tearing the right side of his black mask to shreds.

"My bingeing balls will make a feast out of you," the silver-haired kid said, more small, chomping balls floating around him. "Bet you didn't see that coming. These monsters are super fast and strong!"

Before anyone could react, the ground beneath Shoto's and the other's feet stirred, more specifically the dust that laid there. It kicked up into a violent tornado that surrounded them, blocking them from my sight.

"Assault Dust!" one kid with a mouth mask cried.

"Those guys aren't gonna know what him 'em," his friend beside him cheered, punching the air in excitement. "Come on, let's go!"

"Spiral Cosmos!"

"Electromagnetic Bullet!"

"Hand-King Slam!"

"Hoola Hoop Attack!"

One after the other, the children attacked, leaving no room for a counter, or for protection, or even to breathe. Just an endless barrage of powerful attacks. Heart in throat, I watched in utter disbelief as the chaos unfolded. They were just going all out at my friends with no fear whatsoever. The bravado and confidence they exuded both impressed and horrified me.

"Go Tongue Tank," a chubby kid with overalls said, opening his mouth wide as a small canon head popped out. A resounding boom echoed around as he blasted right at Shoto and the others, the impact so strong that it shook the walls.

"Guys!" I cried, E/C eyes searching in amongst the smoke that encapsulated them. That blast sounded like it hurt. Oh goodness, were they okay?

"Um... WHAT?!" Present Mic's eye twitched as he gazed out at the kids, mouth hanging open in disbelief. "Kids these days are so stupid strong! How is this even possible, huh? Back when I was their age, I was just learning how to get my yell working. I think this much power when you're just a tike should be illegal!"

Shishikura didn't seem as concerned, however, simply stepping forward with an infuriating calm composure beside me.

"Allow me to explain," he said. "As the generations pass, quirks combine and become more powerful. Hypothetically, stronger and more complex quirks will one day become too hard for anyone to control, especially untrained children."

"Quirk Singularity Dooms Day," I breathed out, horror replacing my disbelief. "That's what they're calling that concept, isn't it? I've heard of it before, but never gave the matter any thought until now..."

Shishikura nodded once, a solemn frown weighing on his lips. "Correct, L/N. These kids make me fearful that this is to be our future."

A strangled sob escaped the raven-haired teacher, tears pooling in her eyes. "I'm so sorry. Please forgive me. It's all my fault-"
