As the days went on, my classmates and I trained hard on developing our ultimate moves. Most of us actually made progress, like Tokoyami and Bakugou. Even Mineta had something going for him. Then there were some of us who were still stuck at at the starting line, whilst others were caught between getting somewhere and nowhere, at all.
I... was caught in the middle.
"Damnit, I was so close that time!" I said, clenching my fists with frustration as the last of my energy died out.
"Keep going, L/N," Ectoplasm - one of his many copies - urged. "I can see what you're trying to do, and I can tell you're almost ready for it."
I sighed. "Yeah, but being ready and being almost ready are two different things. I know what I want to achieve, but it's like... my body won't allow me to."
"Maybe that's a sign that you aren't ready, yet. Take a break from it, and try something new. We'll come back to your ultimate move when you're ready."
"But how will I know?"
"Trust me. You'll know. Now, let's get back to it."
Nodding, I brought my fists up again to fight. 'Now: Ectoplasm is an able dodger, so one off blasts won't work. I need to catch him off guard, be quicker than him...' Ectoplasm nodded, signalling for me to attack, and so I did.
However, I only threw one punch before a sudden cry from high above stopped me.
"Hey, watch out!"
Spinning around, I saw Bakugou - the voice that cried out - looking over the edge of his pillar to down below where Mr. Aizawa and All Might stood; however, before I question why the former Number One Hero was even down there, I watched in slow motion as a huge chunk of cement fell towards him. His back was turned to the falling rock, and even if he did turn around in time, he would only be met with the rough surface of the rock.
He'd be crushed.
My body wouldn't move though, frozen in place as the rock fell closer and closer, suddenly mere metres away from All Might. 'Come on body, move! Move! ' Now matter what I thought or wished, I didn't move.
But someone else did, a flicker of green lightning entering my vision as it flew towards the falling rock.
"SMASH!"
I stared with my mouth open wide as Midoriya kicked - actually kicked - the rock, smashing it, obliterating it. Multiple pieces of rubble dropped to the ground as Midoriya landed, sliding along the ground before stopping in what I could only call a real superhero pose. He looked... different. Wait- were those new shoes? And arm braces?
"You okay, All Might?" Midoriya asked, walking towards him. "That was close."
All Might just smiled brightly back, saying, "Yeah!"
Seeing everybody unharmed and okay, I breathed a sigh of relief. 'Thank goodness.'
"You can head back down, L/N. Class is almost done."
I turned around, nodding at Ectoplasm as he started disappearing. Probably returning back to his real body. "Right."
Climbing down from the relatively high pillar, I watched as the rest of my classmates - except Bakugou, of course - started to congregate where Midoriya stood. All of them looked so different, both from afar and up close. 'It seems as though I wasn't the only one to pay the Support class a visit this week.'
"Dude, Midoriya, what was that?" Kaminari asked. "You swooped in and wasted that rock."
"I always thought you were more of a puncher," Krishima added on as I finally reached the ground floor.
