"Go on, I can handle them myself."
"You don't have to," Kirishima exclaimed. "We'll work together!"
"Amajiki..." I couldn't believe it. Was he serious? Amajiki really wanted us all to go an ahead and take on these villains? All three of them? As much as it was a reckless and totally stupid move, I couldn't dismiss how his sudden display of courage reassured me. Invigorated me.
"Please, everyone stay," the blond guy with the witch doctor mask crooned. "I'll kill you all."
"Setsuno!" the sergeant cried. "We can't use our guns on him. It's up to the Pros."
Setsuno's eyes widened for a split second, saying, "Well, you've done your homework. Oh well..." The ceiling light flashed off his sword as he made a sudden move towards us. "...that just means I'm free to let loose!"
"Think again! Lay down your sword." Aizawa stepped in front, his eyes flashing red underneath his goggles. To my surprise, the sword in Setsuno's hand disappeared, and he was suddenly grasping at nothing but thin air.
"Huh? What? What my quirk!"
Okay that was one dealt with, but the other two were still in play. The bald-headed guy stepped up beside his sword-less friend, pulling a gun from a holster at his hip.
"Power: Erasure?" he seemed to ask, unlocking the safety on his gun. "You're just an inferior version of Eri. I'd heard that a hero with your abilities existed, but our job is to slow you down. Quirks or no, we still have fists and weapons."
"Fight all you want," Fat Gum retorted, "but swords and bullets just sink into my body. You have no hope of beating us, so why even bother?"
He did have a point there. Us heroes had the better numbers, and could easily overwhelm them if we worked together. But something about what Baldie had said before didn't sit right with me.
"...our job is to slow you down..."
Setsuno let out a huff. "Big talk; but you just sound scared to me, hero."
The clicking of guns caused me to turn around and see the sergeant and two of his officers holding their guns up towards the villains. "Erasure," the sergeant called. "Cancel their quirks so we can use our firearms. Surrender yourselves, at once."
However, before anyone could move and say anything, a barrage of slimy octopus tentacles surged towards the villains. They coiled and weaved themselves around the villain's bodies, pulling tighter and tighter until all they could do was breathe. I trailed the tentacles all the way back to my indigo-haired upperclassmen, staring at him in awe as he stepped forward.
"Toya Setsuno. Quirk: Larceny," he said. "Yu Hojo: Crystallise. Soramitsu Tabe: Food. I read about all these guys in the briefing." Swinging his arm back, Amajiki flung the villains forward into the wall, sending rumbles throughout the room. "I can take these three on. I eat plenty of takoyaki back at the Fat Agency, so Octopus has become one of my specialties. And you know, I've got to say that I'm pretty down on guns since I was shot in the street."
The tentacles holding the Hassaikai villains' weapons morphed into a giant lobster claw, crushing them in its hold. Oh boy, Amajiki meant business. I couldn't see his face from where I stood, but I could only imagine he was staring down the villains with nothing but pure determination in his eyes. His aura no longer was meek or doubtful; the fear was still there, but amidst the darkness was a new light - hope.
"Hold up, Suneater..." Kirishima started, but was cut off as Amajiki threw the broken weapons away.
"It's not smart for all of us to fight them," he said. "They want as many heroes stalled here as possible. "Let's just give them one. We should save all your quirks; especially Erasurehead's for later. You'll need to be operating at one-hundred percent to get through those moving hallways."
