After giving us a run down on what the second part of the test would be about, everyone went back to chattering amongst themselves. Most people - from what I could hear - were talking about the test, and how nervous they were beginning to feel.

I couldn't help but agree, recalling how - without even flinching - the Heroes Public Safety Commission just destroyed all of those buildings and terrains; and although I knew they weren't real, the 'victims' hidden amongst the debris had me worrying.

"Remember, Y/N: it's all fake," I muttered. "None of it is real - it's all part of the test. Damnit, but all of their injuries looked so real. Please tell me no one is actually hurt!"

Where I stood, I bounced my leg up and down, feeling myself start to burn up inside. Damnit, I just wanted to get help them already. Why the wait? If Mera was in charge of this whole show, then I had a feeling it was simply for the suspense. Looking around, there were many others who felt like me - their energy signatures were off the charts nervous. Crap, were there always this many people? Seemed more than just a hundred-

I jumped at the feeling of a cold hand on the small of my back, causing me to turn and meet Shoto's eyes.

"Hey, calm down, okay?" he said, voice low and soft. "Don't worry, we'll get out of here soon. I promise."

I nodded, taking in a deep breath. "I know, I just..."

Needed to be free.

Although I didn't finish, Shoto hummed all the same, turning his gaze back at me. "I know. But try to focus on something else."

"Like what?"

"How about... me?"

I blanched at that, and then the colour of embarrassment came crashing into my cheeks and neck. "I-I'm sorry, what?!"

"Oh come on, Y/N. Don't give me that look. I've noticed that you have been stealing glances every now and then, and now I want you to know that it's okay."

My cheeks roared even more with embarrassment at his words as I flicked my eyes away from him. Oh goodness, how could he say something so embarrassing in the open, again?! Was I really that obvious?

Standing before Shoto, I could feel a slight sense of smugness exuding from him. In an attempt to restore my dignity, I crossed my arms over my chest and huffed. "Well, s-someone sounds like they have a big ego..."

Shoto's bell-like laugh rung through my ears, and I soon found myself facing him, wide eyed.

"And someone..." Shoto started, gripping my chin softly, "... sounds like they don't have one at all. You've gotta be more confident in yourself, Y/N."

"Coming from the strongest guy in our class, that's pretty rich."

"Coming from your best friend and boyfriend, I think it is, too."

That made me pause, giving me a moment to look over at my best friend-slash-boyfriend. Pale skin; a bi-coloured mop of red and white hair on his head; his boiler's costume; his angry scar; and a pair of blue and grey eyes staring back at me. Shoto Todoroki was certainly one of the most unconventional, odd, and surprisingly charming guys I'd ever met in my life. But somehow he made it all work, the cherry on top being that rare, wondrous smile of his.

"Would you do me the honour of making me so happy to call you my girlfriend?"

And now... he was all mine.

A wide smile broke out on my face, and I playfully nudged Shoto before giving him a hug. "You're a dweeb," I muttered into his chest, feeling it vibrate as he laughed.
