For the purpose of the story, I'm moving the events of My Hero Academia: Two Heroes to between season 3 and 4, rather than season 2 and 3. Apologies if things don't add up, but it is all for the relationships within the story. The majority of the story line will be canon, but the reader's and Todoroki's relationship will be as it is now rather than just before the training camp - this is for consistency purposes.

Thank you, and enjoy my take on MHA: Two Heroes.

I-Island was a man-made island in the middle of the ocean built specifically for the scientists and inventors of the world to perform research on quirks. It was a giant, circular, floating utopia that every company invested into the development and support of quirks paid for so that support items and research could be made and done in peace. The island was a mobile structure, floating around the world slowly as more and more research is found on the Quirk phenomenon, and support items are built for the mainland.

I'd learnt about all of this in a lesson one time with Mr. Aizawa - the rare time he actually taught us something rather than just sleeping through it all. He'd also talked about how the security system on I-Island was on par with that of the world's largest villain and criminals prison: Tartarus Prison, meaning that not many crimes were committed there, if at all. The buildings were said to be sturdier than bomb shelters, and to ensure confidentiality of the going-ons of the island, scientists and their families were not allowed to leave.

As much as that was a party-pooper, everything else about the famous I-Island sounded wonderful. It was full of people wanting to help others, always working hard so that the future is brighter and safer for everyone - exactly my kind of place.

I'd made up my mind that day in the classroom that I would go to that island, and see for myself what the future of heroes would look like. What my future would look like. However, it was a bit pricey when it came to plane tickets and hotel bookings, so I resigned myself to going after I'd graduated high school.

"Will you come to I-Island with me, Y/N?"

So, today, just as I was about to walk into class, I could only stand with wide eyes and mouth gaping wide at my boyfriend as he told me the best news of my life.

"A-Are you serious, Shoto?" I asked, finding it hard to speak when I was so choked up.

No, he couldn't be serious. It was all some kind of joke. There was no possible way that Shoto Todoroki was asking me to join him on a trip to the most technologically advanced place on the planet, and no less whilst the biggest tech exhibition was being held: I-Expo.

But Shoto nodded, his small smile broadening as a chuckle escaped his lips. "Yeah. My father was invited to attend this year's I-Expo, but he says he's got too much work to do. Natsuo and Fuyumi are also busy right now, so he's asked me to represent him there. I didn't like the sound of it at first, but he said I could bring a plus one, so... What do you say?"

My mind went completely blank for a second, nothing registering anymore except that this was for real and this was really happening.

"Um... Y/N? You there?" A hand waved in front of my face, snapping me out of my blank state and back to reality. Shoto retracted his hand from my face, his eyebrows knitted together. But I just smiled, smiling brighter and wider than I'd ever done before.

"Are you insane? Of course I will!" I exclaimed, leaping into Shoto's arms, clinging to him like a koala would a tree.

"Whoa, hold up there, little light," he said, voice muffled as he spoke into my shoulder.
