Chapter 127

Once everyone calmed down, the discussion about our roles within the performance continued. In fact, it continued well and truly until after the sun went down and night veiled us.

"This might help," Momo said. "As part of my classical education, I've studied the piano since I was just a little girl. I'd be happy to play in the band if you need me."

"Oh yeah!" I said, slinging an arm around the raventte and pulling her close. "You will totally rock those keyboards, Momo. I'm sure of it!"

Kyoka nodded, an excited smile on her face. "I mean, we've gotta have someone on synths for the dance music. I think you'd be perfect for gig."

Momo blushed at the praise, her eyes sparkling as she gave an affrimative nod. "Then I'll do my best!"

"Awww" Mina suddenly whined, her lips forming a cute pout. "I wanted all the girls to get together for a big choreo number. But you'll still look cute up on stage."

Letting go of Momo, I pulled my pink-haired friend into a tight hug, her head resting on my chest. "There, there, Mina..." The fluffy pink tendrils of her hair tickled my neck, and I couldn't repress the urge to start petting it like someone would a cat. Damn, now I knew why Kaminari petted Ojiro's tail - it was so soothing.

"Bass is my specialty," Kyoka continued, "so now we just need guitars and vocals."

"Okay," Ojiro piped up, looking around at the rest of my classmates, "so does that mean everybody else will be dancing?"

Iida hummed, eyebrows knitting together as he clutched at his chin. "I'm not really sure if it's enough to get the audience excited, though."

"In that video I showed you earlier-" Shoto began, but was cut off when Mina suddenly pulled away from me to do an extravagant twirl in the middle of the room.

"We've got to have special effects!" she cried.

"Exactly."

Around the room, my classmates faces came up blank as they stared back at us. "Special effects?" Sero asked.

Oh boy. These people needed an education in putting on a performance. "Hey Mina? Can you pass me the laptop?" Passing me the black tech device, I flipped up the screen, opened an internet tab, and looked up the video Shoto had shown earlier. Pausing it mid-performance, I turned the screen around for all to see. "See here? There's lights and streamers and even a disco ball. Those are special effects. They help create more of an upbeat atmosphere in the room. You know, hyping people up. I think that if we wanna really blow the roof off the place, we're gonna have to be really extra with our special effects."

"Oh my goodness, yes!" Toru squealed, jumping about with keen anticipation. "Let's pull out all the stocks and make it look like an explosion of lights, you guys!"

"But of course! We can totally do that!" Mina cried.

Turning to Iida, Sato said, "We're putting this party on in the gym, is that right?"

Our Class Rep nodded. "Aha. Mr. Aizawa has already made the arrangements for us."

"Hold up," Mina said, "how's this for an idea? Uraraka makes Todoroki and Kirishima float, and then Kirishima chops away at Todoroki's ice and sends it flying!  Then, Aoyama can be a mirror ball, and the light twinkling off him and the ice will make it look like it's raining stardust. And, and, we can call them Team Snowman!"

Mineta scoffed. "Ha! A human-made ice machine."

"It's like the team ups we were talking about the other day!" Kaminari added.
