"What is that thing?" Momo said, a fearful tremble in her voice.
Before us stood a giant tangled structure of wires, pipes, and cement that weaved and moved through air, acting as limbs to their master. It stood at least two kilometres high, and had a base width that covered the whole roof. I couldn't take my eyes off the monstrosity it was so unbelievable. How could something like it exist? Who came up with that kind of lunacy?
My eyes widened when I spotted something shine at its head: two blue lights that acted as eyes, shining down on a figure sitting beneath them. A man with a coat and maroon-spiked hair sat on a throne of wires and steel, a manic smile teasing his lips apart as he looked down below. And sitting upon his head was some kind of headpiece - a white, spider-like helmet that clung to the back of his head.
With a wave of his hand, a pillar of cement rushed out, slamming into the centre of the ground and sending another shockwave through the ground. My breath hitched, every one of my limbs freezing up just as my blood ran cold. Before us... was nothing short of a monster.
"That must be the villain in charge of this whole set up," Shoto said, eyes narrowed in on him.
"So that's his quirk, huh?" Bakugou grumbled. "Metal manipulation. How lame."
"I'm not so sure about that, Bakugou," Iida interjected. "If metal manipulation is his quirk, then he's able to utilise any material within this building. That cement pillar must have some metal or wiring inside it for him to utilise it so flexibly."
"He can seriously do that?" Kyoka asked, her face growing paler as she looked between the villain and Iida.
Our Class Rep nodded. "I'm afraid so. This makes him seriously dangerous. We have to find Midoriya and Melissa and quick - before this gets way too out of hand."
Scanning the area, I caught no flashes of green lightning or blonde hair anywhere, only the villain smashing more cement pillars and wires into the centre of the field. Wait, the centre?
Following the pillars to the ground, my eyes landed on a sight that I didn't know whether to cry or puke over. Standing down in that mess of concrete and wires was the former Number One Hero in all his glory, once more.
"All Might?!" I couldn't believe what I was seeing. All Might was down there putting up a fight in his muscular form - the one he'd lost after his battle with All for One.
"Whoa, what's he doing?!" Kirishima exclaimed. "I thought he wasn't capable of that anymore?"
"He isn't," I breathed out. "And yet..."
And yet there he was fighting - pushing past his limits and fighting. Steam rolled off his body - from the strain of holding back the pillars or from keeping his form up, I didn't know - and blood dribbled from his mouth. All Might was way past his limits, but he was still fighting.
Even if he no longer held the title, All Might was still the world's greatest hero.
Another resounding boom sent us all falling to the ground, the impact of another attack shaking the ground. Shoto quickly flipped us so I was on top, taking the front of the fall instead of my broken arm. "You okay?" he asked, hands moving the hair away from my sweat-soaked face.
I nodded, saying, "Yeah, but we need to find Midoriya and Melissa, now. All Might won't last too much longer."
"Is that them there?" Mineta called, pointing just over my shoulder to the far side of the roof.
Neon green lightning streaked across the black sky, darting between broken rubble to flat ground and out again as the villain sent attacks at them, too. And although it was dark, the lightning highlighted golden locks being tousled about in the wind.
