And so, the day with the newspaper reporter began... albeit a little on the rougher side.
For the most part, no one really paid attention to Tokuda as he walked about the dining room snapping photos here and there - just as he'd said to do. While some of us sat and ate our breakfast as normal human beings should, others certainly enjoyed the photographic presence in the room - a.k.a. Mina, Aoyama and Toru. It was quite funny watching them pose at any chance they got; and I had to admit that their moves almost impressed me. Key word: almost.
Although breakfast was meant be such a mundane meal, seeing everyone smiling and joking about whilst Tokuda was around made it more enjoyable than normal. So much so, that my anxiety about Tokuda vanished. That was until he got up in Bakugou's face to take a few photos; then the peace disappeared. Shoto and I were walking back to our rooms to change when it happened.
"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?! GET OUT OF MY FACE RIGHT NOW, BEFORE I BLOW YOUR HEAD OFF!" Bakugou growled, leaning out of his seat towards Tokuda. The poor man was sent tumbling to the floor, his eyes wide and locked on the raging Bakugou above him.
"Bakugou!" I scolded, rushing over to hold back the raging hedgehog. "Reign it in, Bakugou. He was just taking some photos. You know: like he's meant to? That's what he's here for, remember?"
Bakugou's piercing scarlet eyes turned to stab me, saying, "I know that, damnit; but that doesn't mean he has to get serious close ups of me eating! I mean, who does that, anyways?!"
"That doesn't give you reason to throw someone on their butt! Tokuda, sir, I am so sorry. Are you okay?"
Tokuda let out a breathy laugh, the corners of his mismatched eyes crinkling as he waved a hand in dismissal. "It's all right, L/N. I'm sure Bakugou just doesn't like people invading his personal space. My mistake." The slender man slinked back onto his feet, his overly-sweet smile tugging on his lips. "I'll be sure not to get too close next time, hey Bakugou?" And with that, Tokuda left, walking away from us, past Shoto and back into the dining room where the others still were.
I let out a sigh, releasing Bakugou from my death grip. "Bakugou. You can't just go around throwing people on their asses just because they did something to upset you. Especially if that someone is writing an article about us!"
My ash-blond classmate rolled his eyes making a move to get up with his plate. "I don't really care about what that moron writes. Besides, we both know that the article is just a cover up."
I looked at Bakugou for a moment longer before turning to watch Tokuda talk with Koda, Kirishima and Sato. So Bakugou saw through it, too?
"That may be true, Bakugou," Shoto said as he approached us, eyes trained on the reporter, "but that still doesn't excuse you for being disrespectful and an utter idiot."
"WHAT DID YOU SAY?! Who are you calling an idiot, you damn icy-hot bastard!"
"That's the kind of overreaction that gets us in trouble."
"Answer my question, damnit! Don't ignore me!"
"Ah, guys..." I tried stepping between the two, but the intense glares that they were both giving each other was enough to think otherwise. Best not to get involved in that fight.
Ever since I-Island, Shoto and Bakugou had this... renewed rivalry between them. Before, it was very much one-sided with Bakugou mainly being the competitive one. Shoto didn't seem to care really, so much so that he wasn't even faze that he lost the Sports Festival. But now...
"Icy-hot. I'm not exactly one to talk, but don't be stupid ever again. Crying doesn't suit her..."
"...I swear that I'll be better. I promise I will. For you."
