I didn't tell anyone about the strange presence I'd felt in the battle against Nine. I didn't even confide in Shoto when he asked me about the fight. The weirdly familiar energy that had washed over me - possessed me to an extent - hadn't returned since that fight, so I didn't see the need in bringing it up.
Like Bakugou's memory of shaking One For All had slipped his mind, so had his and Midoriya's memory of the strange presence that had supported them throughout their fight. It was strange how something that had been so powerful and present could be so easily forgotten. The power I'd possessed for those few minutes was but a whisper within my hollow bones, making me doubt whether or not the whole event had happened, myself.
Had it really happened? Or had the adrenaline messed up my brain and it had all been part of my imagination?
As things began settling down in the dorms again, the latter option was the most logical.
That was until had the dream.
~~~
I was in a grey building. There was no furniture and no people, just the empty grey building looking out over an empty grey city. That was off. Where were all the people? Surely they should be bustling doing work by now.
I went to call out, but found my mouth being covered by some blurred band. My fingers clawed at the band, but found nothing tangible to grip onto. That was when I noticed all but my head was blurred out - my legs, arms and torso a mere silhouette in the space. What the heck? Frantically, I looked around the room. It made no sense. Why wasn't anybody here? Where was here, anyway?
The centre of the room lit up suddenly, the light shining so bright that I closed my eyes. But when I opened them again, I was no longer in the grey building. I stood on broken ground, the cement beneath my feet cracked and torn up as if some fight had occurred long ago.
Two men were in front of me - one standing high above as the other kneeled below. The standing one had cropped white hair and a suit whilst the other wore jeans and a plain shirt, letting his white hair hang shaggily to his shoulders. Brothers, maybe? Both exuded great power, their energy signatures heavily wafting around them like smoke.
That odd sense of familiarity washed over me again. I'd never seen these men before, but I somehow knew them.
The man standing walked closer to the kneeling man, reaching his hand out to grasp the kneeling man's face. His lips split into a demonic smile, his grip only tightening as the other man struggled. I made a move to run for the man, but froze as the demonic smiled turned to face me. "Struggling is futile," he said, cold words echoing through the cold air and into my bones. His words were meant for the man within his grip, but the way his eyes never faltered from mine had me wanting to run away. "Once I take your power for my own, there will be nothing left to stop me."
Realisation hit me like a tonne of bricks burying me alive, cutting off my airways. No wonder he felt familiar. Even if he didn't have a mask, now; even if he looked way different now as to how I knew him, he was still the same inside. He was All For One - this was the moment that great and evil power was created.
It never occurred to me that my fear of him could grow. But, as I stood frozen before him, I had never been more naïve.
"Stand strong, Y/N. Do not be afraid. There is so much more to you that you don't know."
All For One and the other man suddenly disappeared, being replaced by a woman with hair as dark as raven feathers and wearing a sleeveless, black body suit and a white cape billowing out from behind her. She looked strong, her energy signature reflecting her appearance even more so as it shone so bright that it seemed a thousand suns were present within the darkness.
