As ordered, my classmates and I returned to the dorms in preparation for our special visitors. Upon returning, I swapped my stiff school uniform for a soft, casual look in comfy sweatpants and a light-weight jumper. Slipping on my indoor slippers, I made my way down stairs where I knew the rest of my class would be spending the remainder of their Friday evening.
As I took a seat alongside Shoto, Koda and Sero at one of the study tables, Tokoyami walked by with a loud, "Achoo!"
"Oh no," Ochaco said, a mug of steaming hot chocolate in her hands, "I hope you're not getting sick."
"I'm quite well," Tokoyami said, raising his hand in a gentle dismissal. "My mucus membranes are merely doing their job."
"Eh... What?"
"If somebody's talking about you," Kaminari said, twisting his body to join the conversation from his place on the couch, "then maybe you've got fans. Like the ones who showed for Yoayorozu at the concert."
Momo, beside him, blushed bright red. "Don't make fun of them, Kaminari!" she said. "I'm lucky to have them."
A quiet chuckle escaped me. "Don't be embarrassed, Momo. You were great up there! You all were. Besides, you probably do have some fans, too, Tokoyami. Not only from the concert, but didn't you also do your work study with the Number Two Hero Hawks?"
"That's right!" Ochaco exclaimed, realisation washing over her features. "You've probably had some fans for a while now, Tokoyami. Doing your work study with Hawks has probably given you some street cred."
I sweat-dropped at Ochaco's poor attempt to be 'cool' - it wasn't really her style to talk that way. However, I was surprised to see a blank expression cross Tokoyami's features as he blinked back at the brown-haired girl. "No. Likely not," he said bluntly. "Everything moved too fast there."
Although he looked at my friend still, I tilted my head in confusion, eyebrows knitted together. Too fast? What does he mean by that?
Before I could ponder his statement any further, though, three gentle knocks came from the door and silenced the room. "Our guests have arrived, it seems," Iida said, running over to the doors. "Let's welcome them, shall we?" I didn't quite know who I was expecting on the other side of that door. However, as my Class Rep opened the door, I certainly didn't expect them to come walking in.
"Your feline fantasies are here..."
"Allow us to lend a helping paw..."
"We're champions serving up justice..."
"Puuurfectly cute, cat-like heroes..."
"We're the Wild Wild Pussycats!"
I stared in bewilderment as I watched Ragdoll, Mandalay, Pixie-Bob and Tiger enter through the doors, all posing in their usual team pose. The Wild Wild Pussycats were really here? Although still in a state of shock, I couldn't stop an estatic smile from creeping onto my lips as my classmates all swarmed towards the cat-like hero group
"How unexpected," Iida exclaimed, walking up to them. "So glad to see you!"
"Looks like our kittens are doing very well," Pixie-Bob commented, shaking Iida's hand.
I now stood up along with Shoto, leaning against the table as I watched the chaos unfold. Mina, Ochaco and Toru jumped for joy as Tiger handed them a box of hot-pad buns; Midoriya was kneeling and conversing with a blushing Kota - the little boy he had saved during our training camp. Everyone - excluding Bakugou - seemed to have brightened up in the few seconds the Pussycats walked through the door. Despite all the positive energy, though, a nagging sense of dread swirled in my stomach.
