"Flesh... Pieces of meat... EUGAAAAAAH!"

Both Shoto and I raised more defences as the villain attacked, blocking his blades from hitting us. More importantly, however, we blocked him from getting to Bakugou. A blade broke through the ice, heading straight for Shoto. I shielded him as he leapt away, a pain filled groan escaping me on impact.

"This guy isn't quitting..." I muttered, stepping back alongside Shoto. We had to get out of here, but how?

"Teeth attacks? Seriously?!" Bakugou asked, irritation evident on his scrunched up face. "It's about time I blasted this freak with everything I've got!"

"You can't," Shoto warned him, glaring daggers at the boy.

Ice shards were building upon his skin, making worry rise up in my gut. He was overusing his right side, but what choice did he have? 'He's right. Using his flames would only create more mayhem even though they could help us. We've just got to finish this battle quickly before anyone seriously gets hurt.'

"If the trees burn, just cover them with ice, stupid!"

"Bakugou, no!" I retorted. "A big explosion could impair his vision, meaning he wouldn't be able to see the fire. Besides, how are you going to get close to him, anyway?"

My ash-blond classmate didn't retort back, only grunting with clenched fists as he stared upwards. I turned my focus back up, as well, eyes narrowing in on the tooth-blade villain. What should we do? What could we do? Shoto and I had barricaded ourselves away from him, but the gas still lay in wait behind us. And who knew what kind of villains lay in the darkness of the trees.

Panic rose in me; it clenched around my heart and froze every fibre in me. 'But I will not run.' Biting down my fear, I prepared myself for another attack. 'I'll fight until I can't. Just like in Hosu. Because my friends need me.'

Boom

I paused at that, swinging to the left side of the path. What the heck was that?

Boom

There was another one, but it sounded louder, felt closer. Another one sounded, shaking the ground to the point I almost fell over from the immense trembles that shook the ground.

"There... I see ice..."

My eyes widened at the familiar voice. "Is that...?"

I didn't have time to answer my question as the trees flew apart in front of me, revealing our classmate Shoji. Looking closer at him, I noticed his dupliarms cradling something. I swore I'd heard Midoriya's voice a moment ago... Unfortunately, I couldn't focus on my green-haired friend, for I was looking at one of the most terrifying things I'd ever seen in my life.

"Bakugou!" Shoji cried. "Todoroki! L/N! One of you - give us some light!"

Behind Shoji came a humungous beast, purple and black with red slits for eyes. It's mouth was shaped like a beak, and out came a roar that made even the air shake. As it hit the patch, it looked like a giant, shadowy bird-like creature. Wait - shadowy bird?

"My power is more of a long distance quirk, however, Dark Shadow becomes unpredictable when it gets darker."

My E/C eyes widened as they neared, and I could feel the colour draining from my face. 'Don't tell me that that's...'

"You'll pay!" I heard the villain shriek, sending a single blade towards the ginormous monster.

However, he was slammed into the ground by the shadow, trapping him underneath a claw. Frozen, I watched the chaos unfold, and I could tell Bakugou and Shoto were just as shocked. For there in front of us - in the open mouth of the shadow beast - was our friend, Tokoyami.
