I stumbled out of the portal and onto cold stone.
"Gah," I yelped as I made contact, cheek pressed against the ground.
"Aw, sorry, was I bit rough with you?" Dabi taunted from behind me, and I could feel him leering over me. Disgusting.
Using my injured arm to push off the ground, I twisted over my shoulder to glare at the burnt man. "You..." I hissed, angry tears running down my cheeks. "You're a monster!"
He held his chest - the place above his heart - as his face screwed up. "Ouch, doll. You wound me, so. Are you mad about the arm, because I swear that was an accident."
A guttural growl ripped through me at his playful mood. How dare he taunt me. He was turning out to be a real piece of work, Dabi. But he wasn't wrong, I was mad about my arm; it hurt like hell, laying limp in my lap as I sat on the dirty stone floor. However, that wasn't all I was mad about.
I groaned as I flipped myself around so I could look the villain dead in the eye. Heaving, I glared up at the stapled man, biting my tongue. As much as my dislike for him grew, I wouldn't give Dabi the satisfaction of seeing me riled up.
Dabi contemplated me for a moment, head tilted as his cerulean eyes bored into my E/C ones. A breath, and then he let out a soft chuckle. He stepped forward, and I scrambled backwards, using my good arm as leverage while I cradled the other. My anger slipped away, fear replacing it as Dabi continued his advances.
A gasp left my lips as my back pressed up against something, turning around to see I'd reached a wall. 'Shit.' I was trapped. Cold fingers grasped my chin, tugging my head to face forwards into bright, blue eyes.
"Ha..." Dabi breathed in my face, his hand restraining me from turning away from his ashen breath. "You're not just mad about your arm, are you, though? You're mad I cut you off. You were trying to tell your friend something."
I gulped, my anxiety rising the closer he leaned in. He was so close that I could see my own reflection in his eyes.
He chuckled. "I must say, seeing fearful desperation on little Shoto Todoroki's face was very amusing. From my standpoint, anyway."
I wanted to retort so badly, to spit in his face or something, but I didn't. I wouldn't stoop to his level. I wouldn't let him get the better of me. However, he really was testing my limits.
Dabi pulled away, but still kept a tight hold on my chin. His amusement faded away, instead being replaced by annoyance, his brows knitting together. "So this is how it's going to be, huh? The silent treatment?" No response. "Oh man... I really didn't want to do this, Y/N, but..."
I yelped as Dabi's hand let go of my chin, slipping his fingers around my throat and squeezing. My eyes bulged as the fingers kept tightening, choking out all the air in my body. Strangled noises escaped me, my good hand instinctively grabbing ahold of Dabi's to try and pry it off. However, he was strong, and I was weaker than I'd ever been before, leaving my hand useless to save me.
"You don't like that?" Dabi asked, leaning in again. "Well, then you better start answering me when I talk to you. Or else..."
A burning sensation lit upon my skin, eliciting a scream from me. Tears sprouted in my eyes, and the smell of burnt skin invaded my nostrils. So. Much. Pain.
Dabi leaned in, whispering in my ear, "I'll have to start punishing you. You're just lucky I like you."
I gasped as he let me go, collapsing with exhaustion against the wall. Reaching my hand to feel my neck, I flinched at the tenderness, barely a stroke of a finger causing pain. I didn't need a mirror to know it was bad. Seriously bad.
