Chapter 14: Don't Play With Gold

"I got a call after the incident with Skye. It was from the hospital."
"What happened?"
"An old friend of mine was diagnosed with cancer a couple months ago and I used to go visit him every month after my visit at the book store. I would always bring him books."
"Oh, Midas" you started hugging him.
"He...passed away this morning and they said his last words were, Tell Midas that I won't be needing these books anymore." His voice cracked as he said this and I felt a tear run down his face onto my neck.
I hugged him tighter and we just hugged for a few minutes until he let go.
"I'm sorry for getting you shoulder wet, love. Sorry for burdening you with this." He said pulling himself together and wiping away tears while standing up.
I just looked at him, "Midas there's no reason to be sorry, I'm here for you whenever you need me. You can always tell me anything that's wrong." I explained he just nodded and smiled.
"How did I get so lucky to meet you?" He asked.
"By being a book worm," this made us both chuckle. We slowly walked back to the boat and got in. He turned around in his seat to face me.
"Would you like to help me plan for his funeral?" He asked.
"Sure" I replied.
"Thank you" he said as he started the boat and drove off back to the Agency.

Once we got back all the agents were waiting by the entrance. I looked at them and shook my head causing them all to go do their own thing instead of talking to Midas. Midas and I went to his office and planned for the funeral. It was about 2am and we were finally finishing up. I was hanging uncontrollably at this point and was barely staying awake.

*time skip to the next morning*

Once I woke up I tried to sit up but felt someone's arm around me holding me close. I rolled over to see Midas. This time we were in my room instead of his. I looked at how peaceful he was when all of searching sudden he started turning gold very slowly then he was completely gold.
"Mi-Midas is everything alright?" I asked waking him up.
"Good morning" he replied.
"Are you okay?" I asked.
"Yeah, why?" He questioned.
"You're completely gold" I told him.
"Oh, must've had a dream the to don't remember about" he responded as he went back to normal.

We got up and I went to my bathroom to brush my teeth and wash my face. When I went to rinse the soap off of my face I could feel a pair of arms wrap around me from behind. I rinsed my face and dried it to look up in the mirror to see a henchmen behind me.
"Get off of me!" I yelled.
"Y/n? What happening are you okay?" Midas asked knocking on the bathroom door. He tried opening it but it was locked.
"No, there's a he-mmbhmmm" I said as the henchmen grabbed me putting a hand over my mouth.
I reached towards the door and tried to unlock the door, but the henchmen hit my arm down and pulled me away from the door. He pulled me close to him with my back against his chest. I bit hit hand and he pulled it away from the pain.
"Midas help!" I screamed before the henchmen wrapped a towel around my mouth and used it to silence me.
"Y/n unlock the door!"
I tried screaming but couldn't from the towel. The henchmen still holding me. He started touching me inappropriately and I tried to get out of his grip. He grabbed something out of my shower and hit me in the back for he head knocking me out.

Midas' POV

I couldn't open the door and I could hear y/n struggling. There was someone else win there but I hadn't seen anyone go in there.
"Y/n in lock the door!"
She didn't answer, so I decided to start hitting the door. Meowscles came from all the banging on the door and y/n yelling for help.
"Help bust down the door someone's in here with y/n!" I told Meowscles. Both him and I started hitting the door until we finally busted it down. The girls had run in but stayed back by y/n's bed. I saw y/n the floor and the back of her head bleeding. I looked around and saw a henchmen with a gun pointed at us.
"Lower the gun" I yelled to him.
He didn't answer so I nodded to Meowscles and he nodded back. Meowscles and I then tackled the henchmen cuffing him. Meowscles grabbed him and out him in the one cell we had downstairs. I picked y/n up and brought her to the medical room with the girls following. The nurse used a med kit on her head and y/n started waking up.

Y/n POV

I woke up with a major headache.
"Ow" I said as I sat up. I looked around and saw Midas and the girls.
"What happened?" Maya asked.
"I was in my bathroom getting ready. I was washing my face and felt arms wrap around behind me and no thought it was Midas because he was in my room until I rinsed the soap and saw a henchmen holding me. I quickly tried to push him off of me yelling. I heard Midas trying to get in as I struggled with the henchmen but the henchmen had locked the door. I reach to unlock it but the henchmen pulled me away. I yelled help to Midas but then the henchmen wrapped a towel around my head on my mouth so I couldn't say anything and started touching my chest under my shirt and other places. I kept moving and trying to fight him but it wasn't working. Then I felt something hit the back of my head and now I'm here." I explained.
"Oh my god" TNTina spoke feeling bad for what happened.
Midas looked outraged he had the look like he was going to kill the henchmen. He kissed me and walked out. I talked to the girls for a while until the nurse said I was good to go. Then we headed downstairs to go get breakfast in the lounge room.

Midas' POV

I kissed y/n and went downstairs to the cell where Meowscles was waiting for me.
"Torture him" I ordered.
"Got it, let me get Brutus this is his favorite" Meowscles answered as he went and brought Brutus back.
"I turned to Brutus, "Have fun, he's all yours. Just make sure he suffers" I ordered.
With that brutus nodded and went into the room as Meowscles and I went up to the lounge room.
