Chapter 51: Ex's and Oh's

Midas' POV

I let out a deep sigh when I felt a hand grab my shoulder. I rolled over to see a figure of a woman. I sat up, but still couldn't tell who it was considering it was completely dark in my room.

"Hello? Who are you?" I asked.
"You don't remember me?" She said.

I recognised the voice, it sounded like my ex, Rook.

"Rook?!" I exclaimed.
"Yep, it's me sweetheart"
"Don't call me that, Rook"
"Oh, why not? Also, call me darling like you used to"

I felt her push me down on the bed. She sat ontop of me. I tried to push her off, but she cuffed my hands together.

"Get off of me Rook!" I yelled.
"That's no fun, sugar"
"Get off!" I yelled throwing her off with my leg.
"Ow!" She yelled with a thud.

She turned the light on and walked over to me.

"I'd back up, if I were you" I told her.
"Why would I do that? You're mine Midas! Not y/n's!" She screamed at me.
"I am not yours Rook!"
"Oh yes you are!" She yelled back.

She pulled something out of her bag and began approaching me. I turned fully to gold and she stopped approaching me.

"Oh, you think your sooo clever don't you" she said.
"Now what are you gonna do?" I asked her.
"This" she replied raising an eyebrow.

She showed me a syringe and began approaching me. She tried to inject it into my arm. The needle broke on my golden arm. She looked at me scared and tried to back up. I grabbed her wrsit with my cuffed hands.

"N-no pl-please don't turn m-me to g-gold" she begged.
"Why, you'd be worth something then"
"Do it then, you'll be known as a murderer then, y/n won't like you she'll be afraid of you. She will think you'll do this to her if she leaves you. Is that what you want?" She asked.
"No, that's why your going to the Shark" I replied.
"Oh"
"Now unlock these cuffs before I decide to change my mind" I yelled at her.

She quickly looked for the keys in her bag. She pulled them out and frantically unlocked the cuffs. I took the keys from her and cuffed her hands behind her back. I pulled her out to the hallway and brought her to some henchmen.

"Lock her up at the Shark" I ordered and they nodded.

I started walking to my room when I heard y/n.

"Midas?" She quietly asked.
"Yes darling?" I replied turning around to face her.
"Who was that?"
"My ex, Rook. She snuck in so now she's being locked up at the Shark" I explained.
"Oh, ok. Can I come with you?" She asked shyly.
"Of course" I replied.

I wrapped my arm around her waist and we walked to my room. We then laid down and went to sleep.

*The next morning*
Y/n's POV

I woke up next to Midas. He was already awake and was just laying there waiting for me to wake up.

"Good morning, love"
"Good morning. What happened last night?" I asked.
"Well, Rook snuck in here when I was laying down. She tried to do things with me, but I pushed her off. I told her I would turn her to gold if she didn't quit. Therefore she listened and I sent her to be locked up at the Shark" he explained.
"Oh, I'm so sorry that happened" I said hugging him.
"Darling, it's not your fault" he replied hugging me back.
"I know" I told him.

We laid there hugging for a while.

"What are we going to do for our honey moon?" I asked him.
"Oh, um I'm not sure doll. Where do you wanna go?" He asked.
"I don't know, why don't we look at that today?" I suggested.
"Good idea, then let's get ready" he stated.

We both got up and went to his closet. We each grabbed some clothes for the day, he grabbed his usual, while I grabbed some black leggings and a white tshirt with the ghost logo on the back.

Midas took a shower as I got ready for the day. Once I finished he got out of his shower. He started getting ready for the day as my phone began ringing. I went into his room and answered my phone.

"Hello" I started.
"Hey, it's me Calamity. I got your invitation, you said I got to come to your wedding. I was just wondering who got to be your maid of honor and who got to be your bridesmaids. I mean I am your bestfriend for I don't even know how many years and I didn't get to be any of those." She stated.
"Oh, umm... Skye is my maid of honor while TNTina, Bomb, and Maya are my bridesmaids" I told her.
"Oh, who are they? How come your bestfriend didn't get to be anything"
"Calamity, you aren't my only bestfriend ya know"
"And that's fine, but I've known you longer!" She started to raise her voice.
"I know, but I've gotten closer to Skye!" I raised my voice as well.
"Oh so I don't matter I see how it is, you don't have to come up with dumb excuses!" She yelled.
"Calamity that's not-" then she hung up on me.

I set my phone down, crossed my arms and let out a deep breath.

"Are you alright darling, I heard yelling" Midas asked.
"Yeah, it's just Calamity" I said still sounding agrivated.
"Doll, I can tell that you're mad. What did she do?"
"I said I'm fine" I snapped. "I'm sorry I shouldn't have snapped" I added.
"It's alright, I understand" he said sitting down next to me.
"Calamity called and told me that she got our invitation. She then proceeded to ask who got to be my maid of honor and bridesmaids so I told her. She got mad that she didn't get to be anything. I understand why she would be mad, but she snapped. She does that sometimes and I feel like I can't always trust her. Plus, ever since I quit working at the bookstore she just began ignoring me so I quit trying to get ahold of her."
"She'll get over it, she may be upset now, but she will be fine"
"Yeah I know, but it's supposed to be a good day and I don't want her to ruin it"
"Darling, if you don't want her to go she doesn't have to come"
"I want her to come, I just don't want her to cause drama when she is there"
"Then text her and tell her that you're sorry, but all decisions are final. You could even tell her that she can come as long as she doesn't start anything"
"Yeah, I'll do that"

I grabbed my phone and texted Calamity.

Y/n: Hey, sorry for earlier. I just wanted to let you know that all of our decisions are finalized since the wedding is in less than a week. You may still come if you don't cause any drama.
