Golden Hands (Midas X Reader)

Chapter 53: Swimming (pt. 1)

It was a really close call, but I won the race. Maya almost beat me, but she wasn't quick enough.

"I almost got ya" Maya stated.
"But you didn't" I giggled.
"Good job, y/n" Skye congratulated me.
"Thanks" I said.
"So what types of things are on that list of Midas'stuff to do?" Maya asked.
"I'm not sure" I replied "I'll go get it" I added as I got out of the pool.

I walked over to the office and grabbed the clipboard off of the hook. I began reading the swimming section.

Swimming:
-speed
-distance without stopping
-breath holding
-swimming with extra weight
-carrying weight in arms while swimming

Doesn't seem too hard, at least let's hope not. I hung the clipboard back up and turned around. Midas was standing right in front of me, less than a foot of space between us.

"Oh hey, I was just getting ready to work on swimming with the girls" I told him.
"I can tell" he replied looking me up and down.
"Yeah, I guess the swimsuit kinda gives it away" I giggled.
"Yes, indeed it does. Anyways, I came to ask you if you were busy, but I can see that you are"
"Yeah, but what did you need?"
"Oh, I just wanting to see you. I'm finished with work for the day. I can just stay in here and watch everyone and how they're doing"
"Okay, you should turn some music on over the speakers" I suggested before giving him a kiss and walking over to the pool.

I glanced back to see Midas walking to the office. He began playing some music, in fact he played the Agencys playlist which everyone was aloud to add music to.

I hopped into the pool and swam over to the girls.

"So we have to work on speed, distance without stopping, breath holding, ummm.....swimming with extra weight and swimming when carrying weight" I told them.
"Sounds easy" Maya added.
"It does, but there's always a twist" TNTina said.
"Yeah" Skye agreed.
"Let's start on speed" I told them.
"We can race a few more times maybe?" Maya suggested.
"Works for me" Bomb said getting into position to start.

We all got ready to start until we heard a whistle. We all stood up straight and looked at where the whistle came from, Midas. We looked at him confused and he looked at us confused.

"That was you whistle to go" Midas told us.
"Oh, you probably should've said that" Skye laughed.
"Ok, on your mark, get set, go!" Midas yelled.

We all began swimming as the song changed.

I had a lead on the girls, but Maya was catching up. I pushed myself to be faster and quickly trailed away from her. I got to the end and turned around to swim back. I was about a fourth of the way back before Maya turned around to swim back. She pushed herself to try and catch up with me, but by the time she caught up to me I had finished and beat her once again.

We looked at each other and high fived. Midas walked over to us writing something down on his clipboard. He had his glasses on which caught my attention, in fact I kind of zoned out just looking at his perfect face. 

"Y/n?" Skye asked as she waved a hand in front of my face. 

"Huh, wha-?" I said as I quit zoning out. 

"Darling, are you alright you zoned out" Midas asked.

"Yep, I'm fine. Anyways, next is distance without stopping" I told the girls.

"How should we do that?" Bomb asked.

"We could swim back and forth and count how many laps we make" TNTina suggested. 

"Okay, we'll do that" I agreed.

"Before we start, going across and back is one lap right?" Skye asked.

"Yes, one lap is 100 feet (30.48 meters)" Midas replied. 

"Okay, then let's start" Skye added.

"Ready, get set, go!" Midas yelled once again.

We all began swimming back and forth in our lanes. We swam for a long time before we started getting tired. We had to keep swimming until we could no longer swim anymore. I ended up doing a total of 3.5 miles (5.6 kilometers). Maya beat me on this one and did 4 miles (6.4 kilometers), only half a mile more. Skye did 3.5 miles (5.6 kilometers) as well, while TNTina and Bomb each did 3 miles (4.8 kilometers). 

"Got ya that time" Maya teased. 

"You sure did, but only by half a mile" I replied teasingly back while chuckling a little bit. 

"Next, breath holding. Therefore, you all will have your own stopwatch going. You will start it as soon as you hold your breath and you will stop it as soon as you breath again. They are completely waterproof so you can take them underwater with you as you hold your breath" Midas explained as he handed us each our own stopwatch. 

"Got it" Skye said as she grabbed hers. 

We all lined up by the edge of the pool next to where Midas was standing. We held our stopwatches and got ready. We all started at the same time and went underwater. We all stayed underwater for a while. Bomb was the first one up and to stop her stopwatch. Next was Maya, then TNTina. Skye and I stayed underwater for a while longer. I came up and right after so did Skye. We each showed our times to Midas and he wrote them all down next to our names on his clipboard. 

"Alright so Bomb had a time of 1 minute and 26.4 seconds, Maya had a time of 2 minutes and 0.1 seconds, TNTina had 2 minutes and 3.8 seconds, Y/n had a time of 3 minutes and 54.9 seconds, and Skye had a time of 3 minutes and 55 seconds." Midas told us. 

Skye and I looked at each other and I held my hand up to high five her. She high fived me back and smiled.
