ENCOURAGEMENT

Who would ever thought you'd fall in love with a hyperactive, gangster like and aggressive man? Well, that's what they all see upfront but in reality he is such a sweetheart. He's a caring senpai, a supportive teammate and a good brother. People may judge him base on his appearance, you we're the same too but that's where the "don't judge a book by it's cover" comes in.

It all started a year ago, you were in you freshman year and you were on the shy side despite being pretty, you are very insecure about yourself. You were in the same class as him but you never really talked to him aside from collecting his notebooks when it's your turn to gather them. You saw him as a loudmouth and kinda dumb but he was funny and caring.

Months passed and you were in charge of preparing the handouts for tomorrow's lesson so you told your friends to go on ahead since you needed to finish the job. They nodded and bid you good bye. As you were arranging them and put a staple on the papers, you decided to sing. You looked left and right first insuring that no one was left. No one's here anymore. So it's no big deal if I sing.You started humming "I'm yours" by Jason Maraz. Then you started sing.

Then you smiled as you sang the chorus. Tanaka on the other hand was walking back to his classroom. "Damn I forgot we have a homework in History. I was about to leave my book since it's heavy" he muttered playing with the gym keys. Suddenly he heard a beautiful voice singing inside the classroom. As he slowly opened the door, he saw you near the window arranging some papers and singing with a smile on your face. His heart felt a little twinge and he can't help but admire your beauty along with your beautiful voice.

So I won't hesitate no more, no more

You started humming again till you hear something drop. You stiffened and looked over to where the sound was. Tanaka was looking at you blushing. He dropped the keys to the gym as he was supposed to grab the book he forgot. Your face reddened as he stared at you. You cleared your throat and he suddenly came back to his senses.

"I-I'm sorry" he said. "I didn't mean to peek. I mean listen. Wait! I-i mean-" he rambled and suddenly he heard giggling. "It's fine." You said as you smiled at him and continued arranging the papers. He blushed at the sight of you smiling. As he picked up his book, he looked back at you and cleared his throat which made you look his way.

"Ah..uhm.. take care on your way home (l/n)-san" he said while giving you a small smile. You nodded. "Take care during practice too" you replied and he laughed. "Yeah. I'll get going now. See you tomorrow" he said and you wave him goodbye. You both had smiles on your faces. Since that little encounter, you both grew close to one another. Often times, he'd hangout with you or you'd come and watch his games. You even got close to his sister which you found cool.

The high school week is almost here and it's time for competitions to start, such as singing and dancing plus academic competitions which would lead to the winners representing the school for those type of contests. You looked at the singing contest and were having doubts joining. Your friends pushed you to do it since you have a beautiful voice but you weren't too sure since you were shy around lots of people.
