Alone in a dark room you sobbed, the worst pain you felt in your life took over your whole being.
The pain was both physical and mental, physical because you had terrible cuts and burns going up and down your back and arms but you refused to have them treated by anyone.
Mental because a few hours ago, the federation had sent the enterprise to go to your home planet and act as security and meditators on a peace treaty but you all arrived to late, your planet's diplomats were pigheaded, stubborn, and violent so it took no time at all before war broke out on the planet since either sides army were ready in seconds.
You got down to the planet and tried to help people evacuate or just tried to help in any way  physically possible but it ended up with you even more scarred and burned.
"Y/n? Are you in here?"
You flinched when the lights switched on and a gentle voice carried through the room.
You rubbed your eyes and waved your hand behind your head at the door, you were behind a wall that came out slightly from the door.
A very tired Wesley Crusher plopped down on the floor next to you, he also was just as tired as you were, since they had attacked engineering also but he wasn't going to try to 'understand' your pain but he wanted to support you regardless.
You leaned over slowly and he grinned down at you, surprisingly you smiled back gladly embracing him.
After a few minutes he slid his other arm under your knees and got up lifting you up and placing you on the couch as gently as he could, He pulled a blanket up over you and sat down behind you pulling you back gently.
In the entire time you'd known each other, which was all of a year he'd always had a calming affect on you and you him.
At first your relationship had been platonic, slowly it developed into a sort of relationship but neither of you ever said to yourselves or anyone else that you were actively 'dating'.
It took no time before you were calm, the stress was still present but it didn't take such a constant toll on you as it did.
He leaned down and pressed a kiss against your cheek, when he was about to do it again you turned your head so your lips connected.
He smiled before letting things go further, unfortunately timing was not on your side. seen as neither of you told anyone where you were going.
When the comms beeped loudly interrupting the both of you, Wes and you both groaned before getting up.
"Y/n, get to the bridge now"
Commander Riker spoke with what you assumed was a venom in his voice.

2 HOURS LATER

You held Wesleys hand tightly as you both anxiously awaited in engineering, Commander Riker didn't call you to yell at you but he was trying to tell you that they all saw the way you acted, all those diplomats saw what you'd learned with the federation and how you risked your life to help innocent people.
Now you waited, one of the longest waits of your life.
That's when one of the diplomats who you called Tarth sat down and told you that you'd been the example of peace, and a thousand year war was over.
Now you cried, not like before but you cried in relief, Wes very quickly pulled you into a bone crushing hug.
Peace had been something you'd heard of but never truly understood, for a long time you knew only what it could make people not what it felt like.
In that moment Peace seemed to be the only thing that could possibly exist, nothing more and nothing less.

A/n: I'm sorry if this is pretty low quality, so much stuff has been happening lately in my personal life. I won't go into details but I just wanted to thank you all it's been a great comfort to have this to fall back on.
