~~this whole relationship would start mostly because Data asked you one day if you wanted to be his partner, he clarified that he wanted to continue to experiment with relationships after his attempt with Jenna D'Sora. Before that you'd more platonic soulmates than anything else.
~~Adapting is Key, since Data was really unsure how to act in a relationship at first, you agreed that all conversation should be open and honest. It helped him understand your point of view and helped him form his own points.
~~dates were magical, I mean he studied up on what would be the best dates he could take you on, and he took you. Mostly with the assistance of the holodeck and more often than not getting trapped in it. However he had ways to make up for time if the door wasn't functioning, he could certainly show you how well he functioned.
~~after a while you just got used to each other, your relationship would be very similar to River and the doctor, every time you flirted with him, or just in general something romantic happened between the two of you he definitely would have zero logical explanation.
~~ you never had any children, you were both dedicated to your work and it was a personal choice, a history of illness ran in your family and you didn't want to inflict that on a child. Adoption was an option but after you had multiple conversations about it, it didn't seem worth it.
~~ However you couldn't get married, Android's didn't have those kind of rights yet, even though you went to every planet you could, it was of no use. So one day the crew staged a sort of wedding, something that allowed you to celebrate your relationship. You exchanged rings, it was everything you could've had. Captain Picard even let you take a short honeymoon.
~~ except it was cut short as I said, you were both very dedicated to your work. One day you'd been sent out on a mission to a supposedly uninhabitable planet. Things were going well until you met the inhabitants. People who had crashed here and mutated so they could breath in the toxic air. They knocked off your air helmet and by the timed they beamed you back, you'd breathed to much in. You withered away and at your bedside Data patiently waited for you to awaken.
That day never came, even as you were buried he still was quietly urging you to comeback. When Data met his end he was glad you weren't there to suffer through the news, and all he wanted was to see you again.
