"We have got to stop meeting like this"
I chuckled as Scotty put me down.
For the past month, some way, some how, any time I was in any danger Scotty was always there. This time I was working directly under a water pipe some of the wiring had been damaged, so I decided to repair it before I left for lunch.
The pipe was high up so I had to climb up there to reach it everything was going well, I was about to finish up until the wires began to spark and blow up in my face.
I felt a pair of arms grab my legs pulling me away from the pipe, I was greeted by a very familiar face
"You alright there lassie?"
I nodded and he very quickly put me down
"A Little scared but otherwise I'm fine"
He awkwardly brushed his hands on his pant legs before he spoke again
"I was about to go get some lunch do you want to come with me?"
He scratched behind his ear it was honestly adorable how awkward he was.
"Yeah, give me a moment"
I smiled as I picked up my tools, putting my bag up on the table I spoke first as we passed through engineering
"So how come you've been saving me so much lately?"
I asked hesitantly, swallowing hard hoping that, that will take away my nerves.
"Well I just happened to be around and you needed my help"
He smiled warmly, I felt my heart beat faster as he held my hand.
"But you've always been there, like some sort of guardian angel"
He chuckled
"I guess so aye"
That seemed to be the end of that conversation so I thought for a moment, while Scotty was grabbing some food I decided not to keep pressing but I knew this wasn't something I should drop just yet.
Lunch was okay, Scotty seemed distracted the whole time he was always talking to someone else.
If we were alone for a moment he would get up and go do something.
When I checked the clock I had to leave in 5 minutes so as I was getting up Scotty came back from cleaning up the table, I tried too but he took it out of my hands before I could protest.
"Where are you going?"
He asked looking slightly panicked
"Back to work?"
I smiled lightly
"Would you like to do this again sometime?" He blurted out all at once.
"Sure, maybe next time though it should be a date"
I kissed his cheek
"Now you're as red as your uniform"
