"Y/n, you're gonna wanna get down to engineering Riker out"
Will spoke from my comm Badge.
"Got it"
I left my science lab and got to engineering as quickly as I could.
"It looks like one of Wesleys experiment's went wrong"
Will informed as I came upon the sight of Wesley, Data, and Geordi as small babies.
"Until Data is an adult you're the chief science officer y/n" I nodded and picked up Geordi on my hip.
"Alright we should get them to the lab" I paused Before I called for some help to get them moved.
"Where the hell is my son" Wesleys mom came barging in after 20 minutes of scanning.
I just pointed behind to a crib
"That's Not possible he 17!" She shouted tugging me back by my shoulder
"All Will told me is that one of his experiments went wrong!" I explained as I went back to making acceptable baby solution.
"That's why I need your help in bringing them back" I poured some out and put it into a bottle when I turned back to Beverly
"These three Are the only ones who knew what exactly Wes was doing so I need you to try and find some notes or anything that could give us a clue of what he was trying to do" I picked up baby Wes and he seemed to enjoy this solution so I sat down to wait.
Beverly ran out the door eager to bring back her son
An hour later I put them down for naps and went back to work having no luck any where Will came back to check in
"How is it going?"
"Not good, every where is a dead end. It's like walking in a maze getting tripped up by vines"
"So there is still an ending but it's taking awhile to get there"
"Beverly is going through Wesleys notes but we are not finding anything that could have let to this outcome.. Maybe I'm asking the wrong question"
"Not what did Wesley cause to get the effect?" I shook my head no
As I did that a beaker flew from table and shattered against the wall
"I don't think we're at the effect yet" I muttered
"What?" Will asked investigating the broken glass
"I don't think this is the effect! I think that they're in phase between being babies and Adults I think the babies are solid but the adults are walking around like ghosts" I explained picking up Data and Wesley Worf picking up Geordi.
"Lets take them down to engineering maybe that's where the answer lies"
Worf followed directly behind me Beverly joined us with news
"I found out what Wesley was doing! He was running an experiment with a simulated wormhole."
I interrupted
"So he somehow accidentally created a real one and they got sucked through it" we set them down in the exact order we found them.
"Commander Riker, have we moved since the accident?"
"No" he replied and I nodded
"I only learned about this at the academy let's see how much I remember, Chief O'Brien" I tapped my badge
"Here!"
"I need you to activate a transporter beam through this wormhole using the transporter patterns for Commander Data, Ensign Crusher, And Commander Geordi"
"Got it" he responded suddenly the babies were transporting away and the ghosts of the older versions stood over them.
10 more seconds went past until they reappeared suddenly as adults
"We got 'em chief!" We pulled them into a hugs and congratulations were all around until Will pulled me aside
"Hey Listen I was thinking about putting in a good word for you to take over as Chief science officer and I'm sure the captain will too, you seem just as capable" I hugged and thanked Will.
A couple minutes later Wes and I were the only ones left so I went up to him
"Hey, Welcome Home" I hugged him and he smiled
"Thank you for bringing me home" he kissed me on the cheek before leaving down the hallway.
