"No please"
I begged Bones one last time, before he took my arm and injected the hypo into my arm.
"You should be fine for a while, you're free to go when you like"
He rolled his eyes, I signed my goodbyes and went on my way, listening to the hum of the engines, and the quiet thuds of approaching footsteps.
"Hi Y/n, how did the physical go?"
Scotty asked, a polite smile on his face as soon as I went to him for my daily tasks.
"Fine, my brother said the scarring in my rig VV ht ear is starting to heal so I should come in more often for therapy"
He handed me my tasks, his expression changing to that of concern.
"How are you doing by the way?"
I just nodded and went on my way, I didn't want to keep talking about it.

*FLASH BACK*

"Fuck you!"
I shouted at the Klingon, he in return cut my face slashing across my right ear.
I tried to hold in my screams, earlier he said that the louder we got, the harder he'd hit.
"Then.. I'll... ht her"
The Klingons words sounded jumbled, and the right side of my head pounded, but I doubted that as one of the human prisoners, I wouldn't be getting any medical treatment.
The other prisoner, my best friend she was being held right across from me.
He slashed at her for a while, but I kept my mouth shut.
"I will ive you an hour to respnd"
I laughed, weakly but the fact I couldn't understand him made it so much better.
"Y/n.. how re e go to et out"
I could barely understand her quiet weak whisper.
"Bones will come through, he always does"
She smiled at me, but we were both taken off our footing when the room shook violently.
The shaking was enough to rattle the chains i was held up with, that when I started rocking back and forth, pushing on the harder and harder I slipped straight through them.
Helping my friend down, I held her up by my left side as we struggled but we made out towards the docking bay.
It felt like a millisecond as I looked down, kicking a piece of rubble when the left side of the ship exploded sending the two of us flying into the wall.
I was unconscious for a few minutes, I woke up to hear her distant screaming.
"Oh my god, hey, hey listen to me stay with my c,mon"
She was closer to me than I thought, I grabbed her as soon as I saw the pieces of shrapnel sticking out of her.
I could barely hear anything, a ringing in my left, and my heart beat in my right.
She leaned up, whispering into my ear
"I'm sorry"
She fell back, any grip she had on me disappearing
"N..no.. no, no, no"

*END OF FLASHBACK*

I dropped my tool on accident, a paralyzing fear washed over me as my mind flooded with memories,
The fire surrounding me as she bled out in my arms
I felt a warm tear hit my hand, making me realize I was crying.
I tried to gather my composure enough to stand up and start walking, but as I passed by more and more people, I felt all eyes on me, I imagined what their voices would sound like gossiping to their friends.
I didn't feel like I was in control of myself as I started running, practically crashing into a wall, as I rounded a corner.
It felt like I ran miles and miles until I got into my shared quarters with Jim, thankfully he was still out, since we'd started dating he'd been so kind, teaching the others sign language, talking me down when I want to self-harm, No matter how many times he tells me, I can't help but feel terrible every time he has to take time away from doing his job just to comfort me.
I crashed down on the bed, covering my head with my hands as I sobbed harder and harder.
Once I started to catch my breath, I turned over and started to smack the band against my wrist, over and over again.
I could see out of the corner of my eye, the door open to see a very distressed looking Jim.
"You scared me y/n"
He signed climbing onto the bed next to me,
"I can not stop crying"
He immediately wiped the tears away from my cheeks, moving his hand so he could pull me up into a hug.
We stayed like that for a long time, until I pulled away
"I'm sorry, i didn't mean to pull you away from work"
He shook his head no
"You'll always come first, I will always, always love you, regardless of your battle scars, I promise"
I smiled widely, feeling my heart soar at seeing him smile back.
I finally felt calm, calm after the storm.

A/n: please if anyone has suggestions of how I could and should change it to be more correct, please tell me, thank you all!
