"In us you see a couple of song and dance men!"
Data and I sang in front of the small group of our closest friends, We had decided to put on a little talent show so data and I are singing and dancing to a couple of song and dance men, I was only happy to be there not to pick apart the song title.
I smiled at Will who was playing piano in the corner, after we got engaged, we both couldn't stop smiling at each other. Data and I decided I was going to be 'the dance man' so I got to stand a little close to Will which just made me a little bit happier.
I felt content on the dance floor, doing my impression of an old timey farmer.
Afterwards, once everyone had left the holodeck except for Will and myself, I had changed out of my tap shoes and was about to join Will by the piano when he sat back down
"One more?"
He asked with his unconvincing puppy dog eyes, I was close to saying no but in a last minute choice I sat down next to Will slipping my shoes back on.
I stood up waiting for Will to start playing a tune
He started playing a song from the old movie Tea for Two.
I barely remembered the moves, but it was easy enough to improvise I couldn't help but smile so much it hurt, knowing that I was in my happy place with my favorite person doing something I loved brought that feeling of happiness right to my door.
The piece was ending, Will started singing, no matter how many times I heard him singing which was very rare it always surprised me.
I was catching my breath once the piece had ended standing next to the piano
"How did I do?"
I laughed before I slid down onto the piano stool, leaning my head against his shoulder
"You were amazing"
He praised quietly, kissing my forehead as he did so
"How do you know? You were playing?"
He chuckled before hitting a single key on the piano, when the song started to play again, of course he wasn't playing.
I laughed, smacking his shoulder as he showed me what he was actually doing.
"I always have eyes for you"
