"You are still lieutenant y/n l/n no matter what happens you are still are friend"
I couldn't help it as tears flowed down my cheeks, remembering Jim's kind words when I told him the truth, about my immortality.
That kept happening a lot lately, I loved being with the enterprise-d crew but recently memories kept coming back to me, all that time we spent together.
As an immortal person, moving on quickly was instrumental in my success but I couldn't help it anymore living so many lives once or twice they come back to bite you
"Why y/n! Is that you?" An old bones approached me in the hallway
"Bones!"
I ran over to him, pulling him into a hug
"Now be careful unlike you my bones become brittle"
I laughed at his voice, he didn't seem any different to me
"I've missed you so much bones"
I couldn't help but cry, so many emotions flooding me at once seeing my old friend.
"Don't you start crying! You know what that does to me" he pulled out a handkerchief, drying his eyes.
"I'm sorry Bones, I can't help it"
"Excuse me?" I turned to Data who was looking at us with a very quizzical expression.
"Y/n how do you know Doctor McCoy?" He asked
"She's my old friend, while she ain't old she still just as young as she was when I saw her at the academy"
He thought that over and Bones turned back to me
"How's things going you know with the immortal thing"
I smiled as I remembered like it was yesterday when I asked him to help me get rid of being immortal.
"Oh! I almost forgot, a month before we met khan for the first time you told me to tell you later, trust Q implicitly"
I thought it was odd but I listened to my best friend, i knew who Q was but I hadn't seen him in years.
"Alright, but I think I have found something on the immortal thing"
He nodded but data interrupted
"Y/n, the admiral has to leave soon"
He waved Data off,
"I think I can spare y/n a few minutes"
The next 20 minutes have been the best 20 minutes of this current life, I stayed with him until the last moment I could.
I was about to leave the shuttle bay, however data stepped in front of me.
"Y/n would you please explain what you meant with Admiral McCoy about you being immortal"
He moved out of my way and I turned to him
"It's not important data"
I tried to walk away but he stopped me again
"Please Explain"
This Time he kept his grip tight on my wrist, not letting go until I answer
"It means exactly what I said, I'm immortal I have lived through the centuries"
I whispered as people walked by data was thinking again and I took the opportunity to walk away again.
I wasn't angry at him, it's just easier to not talk about it in great detail.
I decided to unwind for a moment in ten forward sitting in the corner I took a drink looking around before another memory came back to me
"Can I run some tests on you? You know with you being immortal and all that junk"  bones asked for the millionth time
"Doctor, it is unwise to pester y/n on something you have almost no information on"
Spock jumped in, he had been helping me with dealing with people asking a lot of questions.
"Can't argue with sound logic"
Bones grumbled under his breath.
I didn't realise I was crying until data pulled me out of the dream.
"Y/n, are you alright"
I nodded and took another drink
"I would like to continue our conversation earlier"
He sat down, I was started to get very tired of this
"There isn't much to explain data, I'm immortal I worked with Bones on the enterprise"
Being vague didn't seem to be acceptable but it was the only option I had.
"When were you born?"
"2070"
The conversation went on for way to long, I was practically running to my quarters when it was over.
"Like this?" Kirk and I ran through the physical exercise again, for the fifteenth time, he had no clue what he was doing.
"Arm up" he adjusted his arm and we went back to fighting, until we both tripped over each other. Lying on the floor I couldn't help but started laughing at the situation. He slowly began to laugh too a security officer came into the room
"Is something wrong captain?"  He looked panicked wondering why he heard a thud and crazy laughter.
"You really do miss them don't you?"
I recognised Q's voice sitting on my table
"What do you want Q?"
I cleaned up a little bit and thought about what Bones told me.
"I want to give you an opportunity, to see the people you love the most again"
I sighed, knowing I probably shouldn't but Bones told me to trust Q.
"Alright, whatever you want I just want to see my family again"
He offered me his hand and suddenly time began to go back again, the room began to change back into how it looked back in the day.
"What kind of uniform is that y/n?"
I laughed in relief seeing Captain Kirk young again
"It's nothing, I'll see you in a minute"
Q was gone when I turned back around.
"Thank you Q, goodbye data"
