I set down a glass of water for the in his words
"Holy King Emperor Rian V Protector of the Holy Land of the Planet Oculus 17"
Since I shared the duties of second officer with Data I more often the not had to take care of the visitors.
Currently we were transporting both the King and the Lord of oculus 17. Apparently Oculus 17 is split in two, one side was ruled by a lord and the other side ruled by a king.
In my personal opinion the king was horrible, awful, jerk who couldn't rule a chicken.
He believes that he is king of all, creator of all land he sees and an artist, he couldn't paint a stick figure.
I knew I was going to get a headache listening to him
"Oh yes thank you, lieutenant could you stand there for a moment, I want something negative to balance out the beauty of the room"
I didn't stand there to be insulted any longer and I walked out the door.
I kept walking like a drone till I got to my shared quarters, Jean-Luc was dealing with the Lord of Oculus 17 and I could only hope he was nicer than the king.
I crashed down on to our bed with my legs dangling over the edge, a few minutes later Jean-Luc came in repeating my actions.
"I'm sick of royals"
He turned facing me and propped his head up in his hand. I also turned over and mirrored his actions
"Especially Kings"
he smiled and we continued to tell each other about our day. How the lord wouldn't allow him to speak without a guard from his own planet present.
"I'm glad we're not royals"
I looked over his shoulder, before meeting his gaze.
"Not Royals? You don't want all the money, all the power, all the castles?"
He asked finding it unbelievable that someone didn't want to be a king, or a queen.
"I have all I ever want right here, the best friends, a great job, and the best partner I could ever have. A castle would be nice but you don't need a big house to feel happy, just a 2,000 foot long starship"
We both laughed when he suddenly leaned in, instead of a kiss he picked me up my shoulders and tossed me further up the bed. I laughed like I didn't have a care in the world
"I hate you!"
I couldn't stop smiling as he climbed up next to me
"I'm sorry my dear but not a chance"
