"Girls look, Hurrem Sultan and Qamar Sultan are back" I heard the harem maids gather around the harem door, they were excited to see the two new additions to the family, despite me having Murad here they didn't get to see him because the moment I was able to stand on my feet again we hit the road to Edirne.
"Two new princes must be exciting" I muttered making Rosie snicker, and I could see Hurrem crack a true smile instead of her smug one as she looked down at the girls. We stopped in front of the hallway that led to the Valide's room as the doors opened and Nigar Kalfa walked out with another woman I've never seen before, they both bowed when they saw us.
"Nigar Kalfa, who is this woman?" I asked tightening my grip around Murad. Rosie Was holding Osman's hand while Helen held Ayse to her hip and Zeynep held Abdullah, it was hard having two toddlers and a newly walking boy along with a newborn but we manage.
"This is Hundi Kalfa, his majesty asked for her to be moved here from the old palace specifically for you, Sultanim" She answered. I looked at Hurrem who was confused but seemed hurt by his actions.
"Guess we will be having wondering eyes and listening ears" I whispered to Hurrem who's grew a little at the information, now she understood that Suleiman was planting her for a reason and I didn't know why, I was expecting her to be for Hurrem since he seemed pretty upset about her staying alone in the same room as Ibrahim pasha a while back which she seemed traumatized by and she told me that Ibrahim killed Leo which was sad because he didn't deserve such an ending, no one does.
"Alright then, Hundi Kalfa, follow me" I walked past her down the corridor to my room where Hafsa and Hanim were already waiting beside the door as usual. I walked into my room feeling my face grow into a smile, finally, I'm home.
"No offense, Sultanim, but this room seems a little too small for all five of you along with the maids," Hundi said looking around the room. I kneeled down and placed Murad in his bed to have a more comfortable sleep.
"It is, isn't it?" I too looked around the room, Mahidevran had only Mustafa so her room had space for him and more and Hurrem had two chambers, maybe it was time for me to gain a new chamber.
"I will see to it, I will ask approval for an extra chamber for your highness," Hundi Kalfa said. I nodded my head with a soft smile, she doesn't seem half as bad as I expected at first.
"You seem like a nice woman, Hundi" I walked over to the couch in my room and sat down letting Helen take off my headscarf before she left to get some refreshments.
"I have one rule that everyone must follow if they want to be around me and one rule only," I said holding up a finger, she stayed quiet listening closely to what I was saying.
"Whatever happens in this chamber, whatever is said around me stays between us, no one must know and by no one I mean no one including my husband," I said watching closely as she fidgeted with her staff.
"Is that clear?" I asked softening my glare and watched as she gulped and looked around the room trying to think her options through, it must be hard being sent by the sultan to find out what his wife and woman are up to but being told to stay quiet by his wife, the only woman close in power to the sultan's mother.
"I swear on my life, not one word would be leaving my lips if you do not wish for it to be heard" Hundi bowed to me. I know this loyalty she was trying to show will not be enough, I need proof and that will come in time.
"Take this, I like to spoil my maids" I took off my bracelet and held it out to her. She walked over and kneeled down in front of me taking my dress in between her fingers and kissed the fabric before looking up at me and wrapped her fingers around the bracelet but I didn't let go and held onto it tightly leaning down so we were face to face.
