"I need to speak with his majesty urgently" Ayse ordered bouncing on the balls of her feet. The guard at the door bowed to the daughter of the sultan and went in to inform the Sultan.
Ayse huffed rolling and unrolling the scroll in between her hands, a letter. She felt every muscle in her body tense as she waited for the guard to come back, and he did after less than a minute. He gestured with his hand towards the door. Ayse scurried in to find her father on his bed. He stood up when she walked in and bowed to him.
"Ayse, darling, what happened?" Suleiman asked his fifteen years old daughter. Ayse suppressed a sob as her father placed his hands on her shoulders.
"My mother" she whispered. She placed a hand on her mouth to stop herself from sobbing out loud.
"We already spoke about this, she did something wrong and she needs to be punished" Suleiman pulled away from his daughter as a hard look set on his face.
"No, it's not that," Ayse said. She took a second to compose herself. Suleiman was wondering now, if she's not here begging for forgiveness in her mother's place, then why was she here?
"She's gravely ill, I received this letter this morning telling me that she is in very bad health" Ayse held out the letter to Suleiman. Suleiman hesitated for a second before taking the letter and reading through it, it was from one of Qamar's maids, her words were panicked and short.
"I need to go and see her" Ayse begged. Suleiman looked up back at his daughter feeling his chest tighten.
"No, you stay here" Suleiman spoke as he rolled the letter again and handed it to Ayse.
"I will go" Suleiman didn't wait for Ayse's reaction before marching out of his room with a mission.
"Your majesty" Bali Bey bowed to Suleiman. He had heard that Ayse was visiting her father and decided to investigate a little in case something was wrong.
"Prepare the horses, we're going to Edirne" Suleiman ordered his loyal servant. Bali Bey didn't need an explanation, he bowed and left in a hurry. Bali Bey was no idiot, the sultan wouldn't visit his banished wife unless there was something wrong.
"Edirne?" Someone questioned. Suleiman turned to look to his right and found his sister, Sahihuban.
"What are you doing here Sahihuban?" Suleiman asked coldly. He refused to meet with his sister since he heard the truth, he didn't know how to deal with her, what she did should be punished with death; manipulation, cutting someone's limb, and kidnapping free women, Qamar immediately freed her sisters when she got them, she manipulated his own wife, the wife of the Sultan of the world.
"I came to check on you but it seems you are weak in front of Qamar, she's been gone for less than a week and you're running to her" Sahihuban hissed. No one dared to say those words to the sultan, yet she did. She was either brave or stupid in Suleiman's eyes, do everyone else she was brave, no one said this and lived to tell the look on the Sultan's face.
"She is gravely ill" Suleiman hissed angrily. She didn't understand, his moon needed him. Sahihuban let out a laugh that caused shivers to run down the guard's bodies, but Suleiman remained as still as a wall.
"The oldest trick in the book" Sahihuban smirked watching her brother. Suleiman knew Qamar too well to know she wouldn't trick him like this, she didn't lie or deceive him ever, she only opened his eyes to many truths leading to what Sahihuban wanted. She didn't lie about Hürrem having a lover even if it was in the past. She never lied ever.
"She is no liar like you" Suleiman hissed. Sahihuban was too shocked to say anything back. Suleiman turned around and left the hallway. Ayse was sobbing in his room but he knew she was a strong girl and she would pull herself together. Suleiman knew that the kids being near Qamar could be dangerous, she could have a contagious sickness, he didn't mind catching it but he would rather burn the world before any of his children gets sick.
