"Hatun, wake up" I jumped up and looked at Rosie who had a grim face. I turned beside me to see Osman still sleeping peacefully.
"What is it?" I asked worriedly as I sat up. She seemed more shocked than scared which scared me even more.
"They found Ayse hatun killed in the hallway," she said. I gasped in shock and pushed the covers off of me and got out of bed as carefully as I could to not wake Osman up.
"Get me my clothes" I ordered. She bowed and ran out of the room just as Akile walked in hurriedly.
"The Valide is asking for you and the rest of the sultanas in the harem" she informed me. I nodded as Rosie walked back in with my clothes.
They both helped me dress before I walked down to the harem leaving Rosie with Osman. We stood in a line in the harem while the valide investigated the incident. I looked at the maids who looked worried and scared but very angry.
"It was Hurrem Hatun that did it, she threatens her that she will kill her and she did it," one of the maids said earning my attention. I looked at Hurrem beside me who looked shocked and worried.
"I didn't do it Validam, I swear" she pleaded but it was no use. The valide ordered the guards to take her to her room and lock her there and take Mehmed from her.
"Prepare for her to go to the old palace" I watched as the aghas dragged Hurrem away from the harem. I knew she didn't do it, her face gave her away but there was no evidence that she didn't do it.
"Mahidevran, Qamar, go back to your children" the valide ordered. We bowed and left again to our rooms.
I sat down on the couch worried. If Hurrem didn't do it, who did it then? Was it one of the maids? Or was it actually Hurrem? I looked up at Rosie wandering if she knew someone who didn't like Ayse, she did spend a lot of her time in the harem.
"Rosie, who do you think did it?" I asked earning her attention from Osman.

"I don't know Hatun" she answered. An idea popped into my head but I wasn't sure if it was okay to do it, but who cares there was a killer in the harem.
"Give me Osman" I ordered. She handed him to me gently before listening to me carefully.
"Take a bag of money and go to the market, buy five daggers, give to the girls at the door one each and keep one with you, give one to Akile too and the last one will mine, we need to protect ourselves and each other" she nodded and left the room. I watched her as she left before turning to Osman as I played with his small hand.
