I smiled as I watched Abdullah and Osman running after each other with their wooden swords in hand. Osman was chasing Abdullah with his sword high up above his head yelling at him through his giggles that he will catch him. I chuckled shaking my head at the two brothers giggling much to the dismay of their mentor who merely wanted to show them the new flowers blooming in the gardens.

"I hope they have not given you much of a hard time, mother" Ayse had the biggest smile on her face as she approached me. She bowed when our eyes met before sitting down beside me on the ottoman.

"I can never tire of my darlings" I shook her off. The twins turned to us and came running over with open arms. Osman landed in my lap placing a kiss on my cheek while Abdullah hugged his mother.

"Congratulations, dear, Rüstem earned his place as the first Vizier" I patted her shoulder. Her face brightened at the mention of her husband. Throughout the years her love for her husband never wavered for a second, not as Rüstem gave her a reason to.

"I am merely saddened that he will have more work now" Ayse picked Abdullah up and placed him in her lap.

"I am sure he can manage" I reassured her. She smiled and nodded before turning to her son who whispered something in her ear. Osman giggled and cuddled up into me awaiting his mother's reaction. Her face split into a smile before a chuckle left her lips.

"What is the matter?" I asked. Ayse shook her head before her eyes landed on something and she nodded her head for me to look. I turned and watched as Mihrimah walked over with Hümasah's hand in hers.

"Granny!" The little girl yelled. Osman gave her way so she can hug me tightly. I could have not asked for more than to have my family around me.

"Mother Qamar, I heard that Selim had arrived and came to see him" Mihrimah greeted. Ayse pulled Abdullah off her lap and stood up as well.

"I have not greeted him as well, if you want we can go together" Ayse suggested. The relationship between the two became stronger than ever and it reminded me of the times they used to sit together and play with their dolls together.

"I would like that. Have you received any news from Beyazid?" Mihrimah questioned turning to look at me again.

"No, none, Murad arrived a week ago along with Selim" I shrugged. I was not worried very much about Beyazid, he was a man who could defend himself.

"Come on children, you are late for your music lesson" Ayse took hold of her winning son's hands and led them away alongside her sister and Hümasah who looked at her cousins with disgust as if she could not believe someone could behave in such a manner.

"I feel a storm approaching" Halil spoke breaking my giggles. I turned to look at him, he had a distant look on his face as he watched the mothers and children enter the palace.

"Why do you say that?" I quizzed. Halil snapped out of his trance and turned to look at me with a sad smile on his face.

"I have heard rumors about Manisa who it will fall to" Halil responded. I patted the empty space beside me. He moved from his post behind me and sat down beside me on the ottoman in Ayse's old place.

"Who is it?" I asked. My eyes trailed up the stones of the palace and watched as some maids cleaned my terrace and some aghas prepared Suleiman's, of course, he was not there but at a council meeting.

"It is going to either be Sehzade Beyazid or Murad, as you know they are only three months apart" Halil answered. I quirked an eyebrow in confusion.

"What of Selim?" I stood up from the ottoman forcing him to do the same. I made my way through the garden looking at the spring flowers of all shapes and colors.
