"Rosie, you stay with Osman" I ordered my maid who is also my friend. She bowed with a smile and walked over to the extra room in my wing where my son was staying with my maids who consisted of Rosie and another girl called Akile but I still didn't trust her to the fullest.
"Nigar Kalfa, please look into Akile's matter" she nodded reassuringly. I walked over to my couch and sat down and waited. Thursday nights were always stressful because I had to wait and see who Suleiman will ask for, it could be Hurrem or Mahidevran or as usual, ME like he did for the past couple of months but didn't calm my nerves at all.
I looked up when the doors opened to show the Valide sultan. I got up and bowed to her along with everyone in my room. She walked over to me and extended her hand, I took it and kissed the back of it.
"How have you been, Qamar?" She asked sitting down on the couch in my room and pointed for me to sit down beside her which I did.
"I've been well sultanim. How have you been?" I asked politely. I bet Nigar Kalfa would be proud of me after teaching me the etiquette of this castle.
"I've been well. Where is my grandchild?" She asked looking around the room. I pointed for Rosie who walked back out to bow to the valide to bring him.
"He's asleep but he should wake up any minute now" I answered and on cue, Osman started crying from the other room. Rosie walked in and bought him out to my wing and over to the valide as he started to calm down in her arms and settle back down.
"There you are," she said and kissed his forehead. I smiled at the interaction between a grandmother and her grandson.
"Well then I will be leaving now to check up on Mustafa," she said handing Osman to Rosie before standing up. I stood up smiling a bit at the mention of the sweet boy that I've met a couple of times before.
"Take care of my grandson" she warned turning to look at me.
"Don't worry Sultanim" I threw her a smile. She smiled before leaving the wing.

"Bring me my headscarf, I want to see Ibrahim pasha" I ordered Akile who bowed and left the room. If I had sent Rosie then she would have had to leave Osman to Akile and I don't trust her alone with my son yet at least not until Nigar Kalfa told me to. She may be on Hurrem's side but she would still do her job as she should.
I walked out of the harem and down the Golden road. I walked over to Ibrahim pasha's door and told the guards to inform him I was here.
