"Everything is going as the validam planned," Daphne said making me smile as I watched girls get the harem ready for the party the validam wanted to throw in a couple of days.

"Hatun" I turned around to see one of the maids, I think she was assigned to stay with prince Mehmed while his mother was away in exile until they find the killer

"Hatun" I turned around to see one of the maids, I think she was assigned to stay with prince Mehmed while his mother was away in exile until they find the killer.

"What is it?" I asked turning fully to face her. She sighed and looked down deciding her words wisely in her head.

"The prince is refusing to eat anything at all," she said fiddling with her hands as she spoke. That made me worry for the poor prince and I couldn't help but frown.

"What can I do to help?" I asked stepping closer to her. She smiled up at me before answering.

"We thought that maybe since you have a newborn that you will be able to get him to eat" she answered. I thought about it and it made a lot of sense in my head, I was the mother of his brother after all.

"Let's go" I started walking out of the harem and she scrambled after me. I looked back at Halil agha who was new here, the validam bought him here recently to help with the harem and he seemed to like me a lot which was good.

I walked into the room to the sound of the young prince's cries which broke my heart. His aunt Hatice was there looking worriedly at him as the wet nurse was bouncing him up and down.

"Give him to me" I ordered. She placed him in my arms and stood up. I sat him in my lap and pushed down my dress. It took me mere seconds to get him to latch and start eating calmly.
