Living a normal life was now impossible to Lily after being kidnapped by the tatters. She was stolen off of the boat that was supposed to take her to England to study from the White Sea after visiting her family that lived in Egypt because of her fa...
"Valide, please calm down" Osman begged holding me between his arms, he was swaying us back and forth trying to comfort me as much as possible.
"How can I?" I whispered having lost my voice a long time ago after having cried so much. I screamed until I thought I went deaf from my own voice, I cried until my eyes hurt.
"Mother, please, you need to pull yourself together, at least until the end of the funeral" Mihrimah begged in a small voice. I took a deep shaking breath but the tears did not stop rolling down my face. The doors to my room opened making all of us turn to look at the intruder, it was Suleiman.
"Leave me alone with your mother" Suleiman ordered. The two children bowed and left the room sobbing and wiping their own tears. Suleiman walked over to the bed where I was sitting a mess. Seyfettin's cries could be heard from the other room, I have not been able to care for him after hearing the news.
"How did it happen?" I was the one to break the silence. Suleiman sat down beside me acting strong but I knew that he was anything but strong at this moment.
"We were hunting early in the morning. Abdullah followed a dear with his guards and he ran after the deer losing his guards. We sent parties to find him and it was only until nightfall did we find him, it was Osman and his party that found him. He had fallen off a cliff and landed on his back breaking his spine. What I know is that it was brief pain and he went peacefully" Suleiman choked up on his own tears as he spoke. I felt like a spike on fire go up my back as if I was the one who fell off the cliff and landed on my back. I closed my eyes trying to stop the tears but that did not work for me.
"He didn't suffer?" I questioned wanting to hear the answer again. I need to make sure my child did not get too hurt.
"No, and if he did it was for barely a second" Suleiman answered. I nodded taking a deep breath. Suleiman wrapped an arm around me and pulled me into his chest. I couldn't hold the sob back and clutched his black Kaftan feeling weaker than ever.
"Now I will go and proceed with the funeral, tomorrow you and I will go to Amasya, I want to be away from everyone else and I know you need the same" Suleiman whispered in my ear. I nodded my head trying to compose myself. Suleiman kissed my forehead before pulling away. He raised a hand and wiped the tears that had rolled down both of my cheeks.
I held Ayse's hand as tightly as possible, she did not complain but clutched it back just as tightly. Sobs were all I could hear throughout the harem. Gülfem moved from the line and stood on my other side and wrapped an arm around my shoulders. Usually, it would have passed peacefully since I should be before her in line but now it did not matter. Hatice was sobbing at the beginning of the line but tried to compose herself.
Halil and Sümbul appeared first with the head of the coffin on their shoulders. I felt my breath leave my lungs as the coffin moved more and more out of the main harem. The harem aghas stopped when Ayse threw herself on the coffin. I closed my eyes feeling weightless suddenly. My knees buckled beneath me and my world became black.

"Your majesty" Sümbul bowed to Suleiman. Suleiman turned to look at Sümbul along with Ayas Pasha who was giving the Sultan an important report about the state that couldn't wait any longer.
"What is it Sümbul?" Suleiman asked tiredly. Sümbul eyed Ayas for a second before gulping.
"Qamar Sultan, she fainted in the harem and since hasn't woken up. The doctors are trying to wake her but nothing is working" Sümbul spoke as fast as he could. Suleiman almost did not understand what he was saying.
"Call Yahya Effendi, immediately" Suleiman ordered Ayas hurriedly. Suleiman pushed Sümbul and ran out of his room. His aghas ran after him but none of them could keep up with him.
Suleiman felt his heart drop when he heard the news, he lost too many people. Suleiman ran down the harem ignoring anyone who came into his line of view, even his own children in front of Qamar's room. Suleiman pushed open the doors and scrambled into the Valide's wing. Qamar was laying on her body motionless with Halil and Hundi standing over her head with three doctors were looking over her body.
"Get out of my way" Suleiman hissed pushing Halil to the side. Suleiman raised Qamar's head and pushed the pillows to the side before sitting down in their place and placing her head on his thigh.
"What happened?" Suleiman asked angrily glaring at the duo who were joined by a trembling Sümbul.
"She fainted during the last goodbye of the coffin" Halil answered much more composed than Sümbul. Suleiman immediately moved a finger under Qamar's nose, her breathing was shallow. He moved his hand down and over her chest feeling her unsteady heartbeat.
"The second Yahya comes over, bring him here" Suleiman ordered. He knows what she was going through all too well, she was having heart problems, and she couldn't handle the heartbreak.
"B-but he is n-not allowed into the h-harem" Sümbul stuttered shakily. It was no secret that if a man who was not castrated sees the harem he will be killed on sight.
"I said bring him here!" Suleiman yelled glaring at the whimpering Sümbul. He bowed before running out of the room to welcome Yahya into the palace.
"Go close the harem doors" Suleiman ordered. Halil and Hundi bowed before leaving the chamber too. Suleiman let out a deep sigh feeling his heartbreak at the situation Allah is putting him through, first he killed his son, and now his wife is on death's bed too.
