A week had gone by since Desiree professed her feelings to Draco's unconscious body in the hospital wing. Pansy told her he had woken up just a few days ago, yet he would need to stay in the hospital wing until he was fully healed from his injuries. Desiree had been keeping her distance, she wanted to ensure what she had said to him is what she was actually feeling rather than what she felt in her moments of hysteria.

It was hard for her to figure out what she was feeling. Her heart was telling her that what she said was what she meant. Her mind, on the other hand, was telling her she shouldn't have said that, that what she said wasn't what she felt, that it was wrong.

"Desiree, don't you think you should at least go see him now that he's awake? I mean you practically darted away from me the second you heard he was hurt," said Pansy, pulling on a pair of trousers and an emerald shirt.

"I don't know, Pansy. I mean what if he doesn't want to see me?" asked Desiree, turning to face her as she put on a bit of mascara.

"He does. Now, please, just meet Blaise and me in the hospital wing before the match. If you hurry, we should be able to have a small conversation with him before we have to get going," said Pansy.

"Isn't Blaise playing today?" asked Desiree, turning back around to her mirror.

"Yeah, that's why I'm trying to hurry so we can get going before he has to leave early," said Pansy. "Now, I have to go. But, remember, you're meeting us up there before the match."

"Alright, alright, I'll meet you up there. Now go, before Blaise starts to think you've abandoned him," Desiree giggled.

With this, Desiree put on her favorite pair of black ripped jeans and an old Slytherin jumper. She tied half of her hair up with a large clip, pulling out some baby hairs to frame her face. After slipping on her shoes, Desiree looked at herself in the mirror, taking one last look at herself before taking a deep breath. It was time to see him.

Desiree slowly began making her way up to the hospital wing. She was running different scenarios through her mind with each step. Her mind was racing with the possibilities of what could happen, her only hope was that nothing bad came of her visiting him.

Anything that she thought would have happened could never prepare her for what did.

"Oh, Desiree, you came," Pansy grinned, standing at Draco's bedside.

It was then that Draco's head snapped in the direction she was standing in. It was odd, his eyes looked as though he had a million things to say to her. But, that's not what came out of his mouth.

"What's she doing here? I don't want to see her," he said as he rolled onto his side away from Desiree. Desiree could feel the color drain from her face and her stomach drop.

"Draco," Pansy said with wide eyes. "What on earth has gotten into you?"

"It's fine," said Desiree. Her voice was a cracked whisper. She quickly left the hospital wing, ignoring Pany's calls after her.

Desiree would be lying to herself if she said that his words didn't hurt. But, instead of throwing herself a pity party and going to her room to cry all alone, she decided to head down to the Quidditch match. She wanted to be around people. And though this was a Slytherin v. Gryffindor match, Desiree was hoping Gryffindor would win for the sake of their victory party.

"Desiree, are you alright?" asked Pansy, slowly trying to catch her breath from running all the way to the stands from the hospital wing.

"Pansy, I'm fine. I don't want to talk about it," said Desiree, moving her attention to the bottom of the pitch to watch the players fly out.
