Chapter 1-8: Detention

"I still can't believe you got us detention," Desiree said as she made her way down to Hagrid's hut with Draco.

"Did you really think you would go all seven years at Hogwarts without a single detention?" Draco said with his sly attitude.

Desiree rolled simply rolled her eyes.

The rest of the walk remained silent until they made it to Hagrid's. Hagrid was still upset about Norbert being shipped off to Romania, this Desiree learned from Hermione just a few days before.

"Pull yourself together man. You're going into the forest after all." Filch said in disgust to Hagrid.

"The forest" Draco interjected "We can't go in there. Students aren't allowed it's forbidden." He looked up to Hagrid.

"Alright let's go," Hagrid said as he turned and began walking into the forest.

The six made their way deep into the forest before Hagrid bent down and touched what Desiree had known to be unicorn blood.

"What is it?" Draco said with a disgusted look on his face.

"It's unicorn blood you buffoon." Desiree quickly snapped her head around to Draco.

"Right well you three are going to go that way to look for what creature has been killing the unicorns," Hagrid said pointing to Desiree, Harry, and Draco.

"Hagrid you can't be serious," Desiree said with her mouth hanging open.

"We'll cover more ground that way. Now best be on with it." Hagrid said as he led Ron and Hermione in the opposite direction, leaving Fang with you three.

The group began walking through the forest, not knowing where they were going off course. They walked to an opening where they saw a strange hooded figure drinking the blood of a unicorn.

"Guys I think it's time to go," Desiree whispered to Harry and Draco.

"I agree," Draco whispered back.

Harry took a step forward, not acknowledging what either of them had just said.

"I think he's gone mad," Desiree whispered to Draco.

"Me too" he whispered.

By now Harry had stepped on a twig. The snap alerted the figure that they were no longer alone. It began to stand.

"Ahhh" Desiree and Draco screamed as they ran off in the opposite direction of the strange figure.

While running Desiree looked back to see if Harry was following. She saw that only Fang stood running behind her.

"Harry's gone absolutely mad," she yelled.

Desiree ran into someone before she could turn to look back.

"Sorry, Hagrid," Desiree said as she backed up.

"It's alright, now where's Harry? Don't tell me you left him somewhere." Hagrid said looking around the forest.

"There was a hooded figure drinking a unicorn's blood. He started to come after us so we ran...we thought Harry was right behind us." Desiree said looking down to her feet.

"It's alright, you didn't mean to leave him. But we need to find him." Hagrid said walking in the direction Desiree and Draco had just come from.

The group made their way to the opening where Y/n and Draco had left Harry. They found Harry safe with a centaur.

"Wicked," Ron said as he eyed the centaur up and down.

Later that night Desiree and Draco ran back to the common room. As the door of the portrait hole closed they looked at each other and quickly burst into laughter.

"Oh, you guys are back," Pansy said as she stood up from one of the couches.

"Pansy wait until you hear about detention," Desiree said as she walked around the couch and sat down.

Not too soon after, Draco and Desiree had finished telling Pansy about their crazy detention experience.

Pansy's eyes were wide "Wow it sounds like you guys had fun." she said half sarcastically half-serious.

"It's definitely detention that we'll never forget. Right Draco?" Desiree said turning to Draco with a smile on her face.

"Totally" he laughed.

The rest of the night the three spent talking, much like they had on Halloween. They laughed plenty and Desiree and Draco had seemed to repair their friendship with the very thing that nearly tore it apart.
