In the time after Moody's death, Mrs. Weasley began setting tasks on everyone staying at the Burrow in preparation for Bill and Fleur's wedding in the coming days. Desiree didn't mind preparing the Burrow for the large crowd it would soon hold. The only problem she had with being given so many tasks was that she didn't have any time to talk to Harry, Ron, or Hermione. This was probably Mrs. Weasley's plan all along because she could tell they were up to something. In her defense, they were. The four were planning on hunting Horcruxes instead of returning to school, per Dumbledore's instruction. Desiree's parents had yet to know her plan, and she wanted to keep it that way.
"Psst. Desiree," a voice whispered just behind her. She had been busying herself with dusting the mantle for the fifth time.
"Alcyone," another voice whispered.
She suspiciously turned her head. No one ever called her by her last name except for Draco's variation of it. As she could have expected, it was Fred and George.
"What do you want? I'm busy," she said back to them.
"We were wondering if you wanted to come with us to go swimming? Ginny's going to come along. We're going to see if the other three want to come. But, we wanted to ask you first," George whispered.
"If Ginny's going, then I suppose so," she shrugged. "Oh, and another thing," she stopped them from walking away, "why are we whispering?"
"Let's hope you don't find out," Fred chuckled, darting upstairs with his brother without so much as another word.
Desiree stood pondering what Fred could have possibly meant for a few moments. Finally, she decided to shrug it off and move on. She raced up the stairs to Ginny's room, where she'd been staying, to get ready for swimming.
"Ginny," she paused, looking through her trunk for her swimsuit.
"Yes, Desiree?" Ginny asked.
"Where exactly are we going to swim?" Desiree asked, pulling her swimsuit.
"Oh, we use to go to this swimming hole, just over the bend, when we were younger. It's quite beautiful actually."
"Is it safe for us to go? I mean, that's outside of the protective enchantments, right?" Desiree asked.
"It is, but Fred and George said they would put some up around us. They didn't ask mum, but they did ask your parents and my father," Ginny nodded.
"Oh, alright," Desiree nodded with a smile. Now that she knew her parents and Arthur were alright with it, as long as they put up the proper protective enchantments, she felt relieved. Usually, she wouldn't mind sneaking off from everyone but the recent attack made her feel differently.
"Here, you can change behind this," Ginny set up a foldable room divider. "Mum got it for my room since she knew all of us stay in one room compared to the boys."
"Thanks," Desiree grinned before stepping behind the divider.
"Oh, hi Ginny. Did I hear you talking to Desiree?" Hermione asked, closing the door behind her.
"I'm right here," Desiree waved her arm above the top of the divider.
"Are you two seriously going swimming?" she asked.
"Yes, and you should too. Come on, Hermione, it will be fun," Ginny pleaded.
"Even if it's not, it's a break from cleaning the same parts of the house over and over again," Desiree chuckled, pulling her top into place.
"Besides, Charlie's going to come with us so we'll have at least someone to help us fight if we somehow fail terribly at putting the protective enchantments up," Ginny added.
