The morning of the first task Desiree woke up much earlier than she intended to. Her nerves seemed to be through the roof with the worry of Cedric having to fight a dragon. She even woke up earlier enough to finish her class assignments and make it down early for breakfast. She ate at the Slytherin table alone for a bit until Pansy walked in.

"Hey, there you are. I looked around the common room all over for you," Pansy sat down across from Desiree.

"Sorry, I woke up really early because I was worried about Cedric. Then I came down here," said Desiree.

"Desiree you don't need to worry. I'm sure he's going to do great. I mean the cup wouldn't have chosen him if he wasn't fit for the tournament," said Pansy.

"I know, I know, but I've just had this feeling like something bad is going to happen ever since he entered the tournament," said Desiree.

"You're probably just paranoid. The ministry has even made efforts to help ensure the champions have the right amount of knowledge to compete. That's why they raised the age limit," Pansy said as Blaise sat next to her.

"What are we talking about?" asked Blaise.

"I was just telling Desiree that she doesn't need to worry about Cedric. And that he's going to do just fine," Pansy looked to him.

"Well of course, he's going to do great. He's a champion for a reason," Blaise popped a grape into his mouth.

"See," Pansy looked to Desiree.

"Alright I get it," said Desiree. The three friends then sat and ate the remainder of their breakfast until it was time to start walking to the arena. As Desiree began making her way down to the arena with Pansy and Blaise, she saw Hermione not too far ahead of her. "Hey, I'll meet you guys up in the arena," she turned to Pansy and Blaise before running to Hermione.

"Hermione there you are. I've been wanting to talk to you all morning," said Desiree as she began to catch her breath.

"Oh Desiree, hi. I was just going to go check on Harry if you want to come with me. I mean Cedric's obviously going to be back there as well," she looked to Desiree.

"I'd love to. It might even make me be less worried if I can see him before," she smiled.

The two girls then discretely walked to the back of the champions tent. Desiree peaked in through the opening to see Harry and Cedric both standing not far from the opening.

"Hey handsome," she called out in a whisper to not draw attention to herself.

"Desiree? What are you doing back here?" Cedric walked over to the small opening.

"What were you expecting your other girlfriend," she laughed.

"Hey, how'd you find out about her?" he asked with a chuckle. Desiree simply gave him a certain glare that told him he had better have been kidding. "I'm just joking," he laughed.

"You better be," Desiree playfully rolled her eyes.

"I was. Now you better hurry because I can expect Rita Skeeter will walk in here at any second," he looked back to the main opening before looking to Desiree again.

"I just wanted to wish you good luck before I went to my seat," she smiled.

"Ah but I won't need you to wish my luck because if you're there I'll already have it," he smiled.

"You always were a charmer," she smiled before they shared a kiss. It was at this time that Hermione had jumped through the opening as well.

There was then a flash from a camera at the main entrance of the tent. This cause all four of them to separate. "Young love, how..." Rita Skeeter paused, "Stirring. If everything goes unfortunately today, you may even make the front page."
