The days seemed to blur together in the time Desiree spent ignoring Draco. It had only been a week but Desiree felt down since she had been ignoring him. It sounded ridiculous to her that she felt this way with his actions towards the Weasleys and Harry, but it was true, she missed talking to him.

Draco had seemed quite down himself. Blaise had told Desiree that Draco had barely said a word since they fought in the hospital wing, except that he really messed up. She could tell he regretted it with his body language, he could barely look her in the eye.

She finally decided that she would try to talk to him today after dinner, or hopefully, he would talk to her.

The day seemed to drag on a bit slower than normal with just the anticipation of talking to him again. Defense Against the Dark Arts seemed to drag on the longest since Desiree was also trying not to get another detention after the one she was given the previous night for being one minute late to class.

Finally, after the end of Defense Against the Dark Arts, Desiree made her way to the common room to read over the notes she had taken in her other classes. She moved to her own room after the common room began to grow a bit crowded for her to read.

She read in her room alone for a few hours until she realized that it was now time for dinner. She quickly jumped to her feet, placing her book in her trunk, and walked out of her room without any sign of Pansy.

"Um, Desiree," said Blaise in the corridor just outside of the Great Hall.

"Yes Blaise?" she asked, she was confused as to why he looked so uneasy.

"There's been a new development by Umbridge," his voice was low.

"What are you talking about 'new development'?" she turned her head to face him.

"Well, she's formed this group. Let's just say it was made to enforce her educational decrees," he moved his eyes to the cast walls that now had numerous decrees listed on it.

"Blaise, why are you telling me this?" her brows furrowed.

"Well, we happen to know at least one of the members of this squad," he said reluctantly.

Desiree's mind initially thought of one person and one person only, "Draco?"

"Not quite. Although, he could very well be a part of it, but I haven't seen him since class and the squad was formed after classes ended for the day," said Blaise.

"Okay, then who?" her confusion began to grow into a curiousness.

"Why don't you look for yourself," said Blaise, holding his arm open as he guided her to the Slytherin table. There, sat Pansy with a new bright badge sitting against her robes that had the letters H.I. stamped on it.

"Pansy?" asked Desiree in shock.

"Oh, hi Desiree," she grinned.

"Don't tell me you're part of this ridiculous squad," said Desiree, her eyes narrowing at the badge.

"It's not ridiculous, and yes I am a part of it. It's about time discipline was enforced around here," said Pansy.

Desiree taken aback by her response. "Have you hit your head or something. Why are you suddenly acting like the people we used to make fun of?"

"I don't know maybe because I'm tired of living in your shadow," Pansy's eyes narrowed.

"What are you talking about?" Desiree could feel her anger beginning to rise within her.

"I'm talking about how everyone refers to me at 'Desiree's friend' and not by my actual name. God, Desiree, even you're too stuck in your own bubble to notice," said Pansy.

"Pansy, stop before you say something you regret," said Blaise from behind Desiree.

"I'm too stuck in my own bubble? Pansy all I've done the past five years is make sure all of my friends are taken care of. The only time I stayed to myself was when my boyfriend died! That's right, remember that? Remember how I would wake up screaming every night from the nightmares of seeing his dead body on the ground?" Desiree's anger was boiling over at this point, her voice was quite loud.

"Desiree you know that's not what I meant," Pansy's voice was quieter than it had been.

"No, I think that's exactly what you meant," she glared at Pansy for a moment. "I'm not doing this today," she threw her arms up as she turned to walk away.

"What's going on? I heard shouting," said Draco, walking over to Blaise's side.

Desiree's eyes quickly fell on the bright H.I. badge sitting proudly against his chest, "Nothing."

She quickly pushed passed the two boys before walking through the corridors. She had felt the coin in her pocket grow hot as she argued with Pansy, this told her it was time for another D. A. meeting. So far they had two more successful meetings without getting caught by Umbridge.

"Ally wait!" Draco called as she was walking in one of the empty corridors on the seventh floor, not far from the Room of Requirement.

"What?" she snapped, turning to him.

"Woah, what are you yelling about?" he slowly approached her.

"You want to know what I'm yelling about?" she paused. "That stupid little badge you're wearing so proudly on your chest! That's what I'm yelling about! God, I can't believe I even thought about forgiving you for what you did to the Weasleys and Harry!"

"You don't think I felt bad for doing that after seeing you react that way?! No, of course not because you'll always be there to protect him won't you?" he snarled.

"I can't believe I'm hearing this from you right now," she pressed her tongue to her cheek. "Draco, I've told you so many times before that when it comes to my friends and family you do not get to say or do anything like that! And no, this isn't about Harry! This is about the vile woman you've just willingly joined forces with! The same woman who did this to me!" she flashed her hand in front of him that was now raised a bit from last night's detention.

Draco grimaced at the sight of her hand, "So what are you going to do? Turn your back on Pansy and I?"

"Don't bring Pansy into this right now. This is about you and I, and you know it. And no, I don't want to walk away but you're doing exactly what goes against everything I stand for. Draco, I have no choice," tears of anger began streaming down her face, she began to slowly walk away towards the Room of Requirement. She knew there would be no way she could completely walk out of his life but she needed to at least get him to think that so he'd change.

"Where are you going?" he yelled, his anger seemed to heighten at the last of her sentence. His hand firmly grasped her good hand.

"I have to go!" she croaked, the tears still continued to fall down her cheeks. Their eyes held each other's gaze for a moment.

"You're part of it aren't you? You're part of his little group! That's why you've been defending them," his hand let go of her hand.

Desiree averted her eyes away from his, "Draco, please, don't do this."

She moved her eyes back to his. He closed his eyes, exhaling as he slowly shook his head. Desiree felt a tear of pain fall down her cheek as she slowly walked away from him. Leaving him silent in the seventh floor corridor.
