"Are you ready?" Desiree's mother asked as they stood in front of the Hogwarts once more, this time to start Desiree's second year.

"I'm ready just the same as I was last year." Desiree smiled.

"Okay well off you go." her mother said now standing up and grabbing her father's hand.

"I love you guys." Desiree said as she stepped on the train and waved them goodbye.

"We love you too." Her father said waving to her.

Desiree decided to sit with Draco and Pansy this year. She figured she would just catch up with Harry, Ron, and Hermione later. Desiree searched around the train until she finally found them in compartment by themselves.

"There you are. I was just asking Draco where you were." Pansy said as she moved her feet for Desiree to sit. "So anything exciting happen after the party?" Pansy asked excitedly.

"You mean in the past two weeks? No nothing crazy." Desiree said as she slightly laughed. "Although...I did get a letter from Cedric, so I guess that's something."

"Did you really? What did it say?" Pansy said her excitement grew a bit larger.

"He just asked me how my summer was going." Desiree laughed at Pany's excitedness.

"That's strange." Draco had said. This was the first thing Draco had said since Desiree walked in.

Pansy turned her head "You wouldn't understand." She laughed.

"What's there to understand? It was a letter." Draco said with an attitude.

"Just because you have an inability to fancy someone doesn't mean other people do as well. It's obvious Cedric fancies Desiree." Pansy said still looking at Draco.

"Cedric does not fancy me. We're just friends." Desiree said with a somewhat confused look on her face.

"You can tell Draco that all you want but I know what I see." Pansy laughed.

"Whatever." Desiree said rolling her eyes as she laughed. "So Draco anything new with you?"

Draco turned his head that was facing the window to now face Desiree, "Nothing really, after the party things went back to how they always are at home."

"What about you Pansy?" Desiree asked after Draco finished.

"The same as before, I mainly just wrote you." She let out a little laugh.

The train ride seemed to quickly go by just as it did the year before. The group of three made their way off the train and into the carriages.

"I wonder who the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher is going to be seeing as how Quirrel is...you know." Desiree said as the carriage began to move towards the castle.

"Let's just hope Dumbledore has hired someone that can actually help us. It would be nice for him to finally do some good for this school." Draco remarked.

Desiree felt her mood shift "What's wrong with Dumbledore?" She said with an attitude.

"He's the worst headmaster this school has seen." Draco snapped.

"Dumbledore is a very powerful wizard that no doubt works hard to protect and up keep this school." Desiree snapped back.

"Okay can we please not fight." Pansy said moving her hands between Draco and Desiree.

The pair both sat back against the carriage seat not speaking to each other. By now the carriage had come to a halt in front of the doors to Hogwarts. The three quickly got off and made their way to the great hall. They sat down in the middle of the table.

Desiree waved to Ron, Harry and Hermione as they sat down at the Gryffindor table.

"Why are you waving at them?" Draco said with a disgusted look on his face.

"Because they're my friends obviously." Desiree said back with the same attitude she had earlier.

"Do you two ever stop fighting?" Pansy said turning to them again. "We've been together for only a few hours and you two have already gotten into two arguments."

"Sorry...I'll try to stop." Desiree said looking down. "As long as he can stop making fun of my other friends." She now said snapping her head to face Draco.

"Fine, I'll try." Draco rolled his eyes.

"That's all I ask." Desiree smiled.

By now all of the first years had been sorted and Dumbledore and began his start of term speech.

"Your new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher in none other than Mr. Gilderoy Lockhart." Dumbledore said moving his arm to reveal Lockhart now standing at the staff table.

"How lovely...a man that likes to always be the center of attention as our new teacher." Desiree said with a fake smile on her face.

"What did I say earlier about Dumbledore?" Draco said turning his head to face Desiree.

Desiree simply gave a mocking facial expression. Desiree knew this would be the start of a very long year.
