"Desiree do you know any good Potion books to study? I only ask because you're one of the only people I know that likes to study like I do." asked Hermione as they both sat outside with Ron.

"Well I think the most helpful for me was-" She was cut off.

"This can't be good." Ron said as he pointed to the Gryffindor and Slytherin Quidditch teams walking up to each other, both teams with their brooms.

"Gryffindor gets the pitch today." Desiree heard Oliver Wood say as they caught up to the group.

"We have a note from Snape." The captain of the Slytherin team smirked as he handed Oliver the note.

The note said that the Slytherin's would be given the pitch for the evening to train their new seeker.

"New seeker?" Desiree asked confused, she had heard nothing about her house getting a new seeker.

Draco stepped forward with his typical smirk plastered across his face.

"Malfoy?" Harry said quite confused.

"That's right. And that's not the only thing new this year." Draco said indicating to the Slytherin team's new set of Nimbus 2001s.

"Those are the new Nimbus 2001s. How'd you get those?" Ron asked amazed.

"They were a gift from Draco's father." Marcus Flint, the captain of the Slytherin team, said with the same smirk as before.

Desiree rolled her eyes knowing that this was another one of Draco's elaborate plans to appear better than Harry.

"See Weasley unlike some, my father can afford the best." Draco remarked.

"Draco that's enough." Y/n said trying to make him stop. Draco simply glanced at Desiree for a second and looked away.

Hermione chimed in, "At least no one on the Gryffindor team had to buy their way in. They got in on pure talent."

Draco glared at Hermione, "No one asked your opinion, you filthy little mudblood."

"You'll pay for that one Malfoy." Ron said grabbing his wand. "Eat slugs." Ron's wand backfired and hit him instead.

Harry and Hermione were quick to run and assist Ron. Desiree stood glaring at Draco as he laughed at Ron.

"Oh, what's wrong Desiree? Did I offend your little mudblood friend." Draco said sarcastically as the rest of the Slytherin team laughed.

Desiree walked up to Draco, before she could take a second to think her hand connected with Draco's cheek. He stumbled back slightly. "I said that was enough."

Desiree now walked with Ron, Harry, and Hermione to Hagrid's hut.

"Who were you trying to curse anyway?" Hagrid asked Ron, handing him a bucket.

"Malfoy, he called Hermione a...well I don't know what he called her." said Harry.

Hermione stood up and walked towards the window, "He called me a mudblood."

"He did not." Hagrid said shocked.

"What's a mudblood?" asked Harry.

Desiree chimed in, "It means dirty blood...it's a foul name for muggle borns. Some pureblood families believe that because they're pureblood it makes them better. Some even take it to the extreme to say that muggle borns don't belong in the wizarding world." she said as she looked to Hermione, then to Harry. "My family, luckily, don't share these beliefs. We believe we should be seen as equals. That it matters more of what you do with your powers rather than your blood status."

"There's not a lot of families like yours and Ron's" Hagrid said looking to Desiree.

"Yeah...but don't worry Hermione, Draco should have learned his lesson." Desiree slightly laughed.

"What do you mean?" she asked walking back.

"Well while you and Harry were helping Ron I hit Draco in the face." She laughed even more.

"You did what?" Harry, Ron, and Hermione asked in unison, all amazed.

"I've told him multiple times before not to make fun of you all in front of me. I guess this finally made it boil over."

"Have you really told him that?" asked Ron.

"Yes and on multiple occasions. You can ask Pansy, she knows." Desiree laughed, "Speaking of Pansy I should be going to find her. I hope you get better soon Ron." She said as she now walked out of Hagrid's and towards the castle.

After a few minutes of searching the castle, Desiree finally found Pansy in the great hall with Blaise. "Oh Pansy there you are. I've been looking for you for like ten minutes. You'll never guess what I did..." said Desiree eagerly.

"Did you kiss Cedric?" Pansy laughed.

Desiree rolled her eyes, "No, of course not. But I did hit Draco in the face."

"You what?" Pansy's eyes grew large.

"Oh he deserved it. He called Hermione a mudblood." said Desiree as she took a seat on the opposite side of the table as Pansy and Blaise.

"Oh yeah he definitely deserved it." said Blaise looking to Desiree then Pansy.

"Well are you going to apologize?" asked Pansy.

Desiree's face held a almost disgusted expression, "Of course not. Well I suppose if he realizes what he said was wrong and agrees to never to say anything like that again then, maybe."

"I suppose that's fair." Pansy said shrugging her shoulders. "Oh yeah! I almost forgot, you never told me about your talk with Cedric."

"I knew you wouldn't forget that." Desiree laughed.

"Well, get on with it." said Pansy eagerly.

"We just talked about each other's summers. Nothing crazy." Desiree smiled.

"If it was nothing then why are you smiling?" Pansy said looking to Desiree with big eyes.

"What- Can I not smile anymore?" Desiree laughed.

"Oh no, of course you can. You just need to accept the fact that it's because of Cedric." Pansy said matter of factly.

"You are impossible." Desiree laughed once more.
