It had been about a month and a half since Desiree had left her friends at Platform 9 3/4. She had only been getting letters from Pansy. She heard nothing from Draco, who she tried writing to on multiple occasions.

"Desiree can you come down here please." Her mother called out from downstairs.

"Coming mother!" Desiree said as she hurried down the stairs. "What is it?" she said meeting her mother at the table.

"We've got an invitation to attend a party at Malfoy Manor this Saturday. Would you like for us to attend?" She said handing Desiree the invitation.

Desiree scoffed "This is just like him...he doesn't write all summer but yet still invites us to his family's party."

"Do you not want to go then?" Her mother looked at her.

"No, it's alright we can go. What will I wear though?" Desiree looked up to her mother.

"Well, we can go shopping for a dress in Diagon Alley. We need to get your supplies for this school year anyway, your Hogwarts letter came today as well." Her mother said, now picking up Desiree's Hogwarts letter.

Desiree hurried to put on her clothes to go to Diagon Alley. Before she knew it she and her mother were using Floo Powder to get in their way.

Diagon Alley was crowded like usual, filled with all sorts of witches and wizards alike.

"Right darling, we're going to get our dresses first, then we will get your books." Desiree's mother said dusting the Floo Powder off of the both of them.

Desiree simply nodded and walked with her mother into the dress shop. After many dresses tried on, Desiree finally found the one she wanted. It was a simple but elegant sky blue dress. The dress was short and worked perfectly for her twelve almost thirteen-year-old body in an age-appropriate manner.

"Are you sure this is the one you want?" her mother asked looking at her daughter's reflection in the mirror.

"Yes. Why do you ask? Do you not like it?" Desiree said turning to face her mother.

"No, it's a beautiful sweetheart. I just wanted to make sure it's what you want." Her mother smiled.

The pair exited the dress shop and made their way into the book store. There Desiree saw a familiar red-headed family.

"Ron!" Desiree yelled running up to the Weasleys along with Harry and Hermione.

"Hey, Desiree! I haven't heard from you all summer." Hermione said as she hugged Desiree.

"I'm sorry I've been so busy I've barely even been able to keep up with writing Pansy." She said now looking to all of her friends.

By this time the group had moved near the front of the store after Gilderoy Lockhart made a scene with Harry. Desiree turned when she heard a familiar voice.

"Bet you loved that didn't you Pottah," Draco said walking down the stairs. "Famous Harry Pottah, can't even go to a bookstore without making the front page." he snarled.

Ginny was quick to stand up to him, "Leave him alone."

"Oh look Pottah, you got yourself a girlfriend." He said looking to Ginny then to Harry.

Desiree stepped in front of Ginny "They said to leave them alone." she glared at Draco as she said this.

Draco seemed to back down a little bit.

"Desiree, it's time to go." her mother said as she had just finished talking with Mrs. Weasley.

"Coming mother," Desiree said before turning to wave her friends goodbye.
