Damn, seeing the Ateneo even virtually made me emotional and miss people.
I remembered that time when I was walking around campus with a guy I genuinely liked last year. Coming from a PE class, I was surprised to see him walking from East Parking, and I tried to ignore him as much as I can. But we were both going to the same class in BEL, and I guess it was inevitable. We talked about our lives, not academics-related surprisingly. I liked hearing him tell stories enthusiastically, so I tried to keep quiet, listen, and just bow my head so I don't see his eyes and he won't see much of my blushing face.
When we were around BEL field and Gesu, the national anthem played. We stopped walking and looked back at the flag in front of Xavier Hall. He was behind me, and so when we both looked back, I took my chance. I did not look at the flag - I gazed at him and smiled through "Lupang Hinirang".
It was a nice and sunny day.
Knowing that onsite classes might also be impossible in our senior year, I'm glad that I had that chance, at the very least. We were never together, but I hope he is happy today, as I was happy that day.
