I just want to vent guys. I come from a middle class family where my dad earns decently enough to send me to Ateneo and my two sibs to a private school, mom, despite only finishing high school, has passive income from rentals. I despise how my dad treats my mom. All my mom does, besides being a mother to us three, is to SERVE my dad. I thought dad's probably acts like that because mom is "undereducated." Mom looks after all of us and even does everything in the house since we don't have a helper. Mom never asks us to do chores because she wants us to focus on studying instead. The best we could do is to keep our rooms clean so she won't have to clean them. She wakes up early in the morning to prepare breakfast then off we go, dad goes to his 8-4 job. Then comes home, even mom would have to remove his shoes and socks. I SWEAR IT'S SICKENING. It's not romantic you guys. Dad always raises his voice on mom. Mom's always just calm and still be sweet to him.Now that we're all at home together, it's MORE sickening! Dad doesn't do ANYTHING at all. He's always just lying down on the couch or on their bed watching on Netflix. He can't even get his own meal. Mom prepares his meal. And she tells mom something to do and not get it right, he yells at her. My brother's the same. Even my 7-y/o brother's starting to treat mom the same. And what provoked me to vent here is because just now, my dad sent my mom, who doesn't know how to drive, to the grocery which is more or less 2 kms away. SHE HAS TO WALK THAT MUCH! Going there would be acceptable, but going back here? With all the grocery bags???? I asked mom who's driving her (me or dad) but she said that only her can go out cos she has the quarantine pass.Am I the only one in this family who sees this??? THERE'S TOO MUCH GROSS PATRIARCHY. I treat and help my mom the best way I can... This is just sickening. It pains me that despite mom's devotion for this family, she gets treated so lowly. I just hope that my future boyfriend/husband would never treat me the way the males in this house treat my mom. And I will do my best to make my future family want to come home happily.
