#DLSUFreedomWall47833Just want to share life after college... kids, hope you can learn something from this.
I pursued the life of an entrepreneur after my first job. The first 2 years were great and I was on my way to the top. All my friends were amazed and impressed of my achievements and they were very proud to be associated with me. I was high in spirits and was very glad of my friends for being supportive.
On the 3rd yr however, our business took a hit and had a major issue with a client. This client is a blogger who had press connections and published a lot of bad press against our company and against me personally. It was the most stressful experience of my life. Our company and my picture was posted on social media and can even be found on google searches upto this day. These days people just believe whatever they read even including your so called friends. Damage was too much for our business to handle that we had no choice but to shut it down. It was very awful.
Almost everyone left and i had to pick myself up from the ground without any of them. Very few bothered to ask me what happened, or ask my side of the story. They simply assumed. Some even felt good at how badly i hit the ground.
3 years later, at present, I am currently managing 5 small companies, all earning really well even during this difficult times (thanks to my mistakes and experiences), and lo and behold, i have friends again. How funny.
Best lessons in life are learned the hard way. And one of them is getting to know who your real friends are. So kids, choose your college friends wisely. Just because the best days of your life are shared with some people doesnt mean they will also share your worst.
P.S. the blogger is a DLSU alumnus like me.
