NWH spoilers! Based on the TikTok^

Ok but when I saw Matt in NWH I flipped. I watched Daredevil, what, a couple years ago now? Either way, 10/10 guest appearance, love that man. So because we both know he's a really good lawyer, he's going in this oneshot :) (also heads up: y/n deals with some weight related problems in this so if you're sensitive to that, heads up)

It was several months ago he told you there was another heartbeat besides your own. Mr. Murdock let you panic for a second before he reassured you he meant you were pregnant. In the split second after hearing that, you felt relief, then you realized he just said you had a baby inside you and freaked out again.

"How can you tell?" you remember asking him, and he just grinned.

"I'm a really good lawyer," was his mysterious reply. It was only much later that you questioned his reply, because in the moment you were still trying to process being pregnant. You remember being both happy and terrified. Now you have no idea why you were happy. Now you could clearly see the baby bump without the aid of a lawyer that seemed much more than a lawyer.

"Hey Matt," you greeted the man that just knocked on your door. He smiled and held out his arm, the one without the cane, and you looped it to lead him out of the building. Not that he really needed your help; you swore he could see but he denied it.

"Foggy's waiting for us outside." He pointed in the general direction of the street, where you saw a sleek black car waiting for you. You tried to help the 'blind' man into the vehicle but he insisted he should help you first. You struggled to sit down with your stomach sticking out so far, but you managed and he joined you.

"Hi Foggy," you greeted Matt's partner in law, already out of breath. Foggy waved happily.

"You hungry at all? We can stop anywhere you need." You managed a smile. You had screamed at him to stop last time so you could get your pregnancy craving's fix. You still felt bad about it.

"Not right now. Sorry again about that."

"You're good." Foggy made a swatting motion then put the car into drive. "To the hospital!"

"Is she doing ok?" you asked Matt, placing your hand on his as he stared straight ahead. He turned his head towards your stomach and carefully put his hand on it. He had always been hesitant to touch you, almost like he was scared to hurt you, but he had grown more used to it over time. But he never failed to be extremely careful every time.

"She's very healthy, yes." The worry lines on your forehead disappeared as you sighed.

"Thank you." He made a noise and your eyes sprang open immediately. "What?!"

"I felt her kick," he whispered, mystified. You put your hands beside his to feel your little girl kick once more.

"Her first kicks," you murmured, moved to tears. Your hormones were out of whack tho, so it wasn't your fault.

"We're here!" Foggy called back, stopping in front of the hospital.

"Why do we even need to go? You can just tell me she's ok," you grumbled, allowing Matt to help you out of the car.

"Because it's very important you know how to care for her after she comes out. That and I can never be too sure." He led you towards the door, his cane tapping as he walked. Your friendship with each other was unexpected. After he broke the news to you and everyone else around you—aka your friends—you weren't sure what to do. He helped you figure it out, even brought you to your first hospital visit after you called him crying saying you needed an escape. Your parents never outright said anything about it, but you could feel their judgment. You didn't even know what you did wrong! You were a virgin, so how did this happen? Were you raped? You had no idea, and you spent way too long trying to figure out the why. At this point you were just ready to move on from a mistake you apparently made and deal with it. Since then, Matt had been kind enough to let you stay at his place. You really owed him a lot. You'd never had someone care about you that much.
