It was bad enough having to deal with bullying at school, but having one of his bullies live in the apartment across from him just made it a thousand times worse. I mean sure, (Y/N) was mostly just friends with Flash Thompson and a bully of Peter's by default, but it didn't help she occasionally had Flash over, and he never failed to make some kind of comment Peter's way. Usually she just sent the boy looks and he stayed clear enough that no actual conflict arose from the interaction, but of course, today just had to be different.
As Peter was exiting the elevator, (Y/N) followed him out more closely than usual. She was almost stepping on his heels with how close she was walking, and he quickened his pace to try to avoid her. When he got to his apartment, he thought the torment was over, but she stayed right behind him. He fit the key in the lock, looking back at her with confusion as she glared at him. He opened the door and stepped inside, and she instantly made to follow him.
"What are you doing?" he asked, blocking the doorway.
"Your aunt invited me," (Y/N) spat, rolling her eyes. "Now get out of my way, nerd." In his confusion, she was able to shove him out of the way and step inside. Peter watched in confusion as she walked over to the couch, throwing her bag onto it and looked around. "Nice place." It didn't sound genuine at all, but he had no more room to argue with her guest appearance because May walked in.
"Hey (Y/N)!" May gave the girl a warm hug.
"Hi Mrs. Parker," (Y/N) said smiling. "It's nice to see you again." She was always so two faced when it came to him versus May. His sour expression caught May's attention and she turned to her nephew.
"I forgot to tell you (Y/N)'s gonna be staying with us for a week. Her parents are out of town and I offered to let her stay with us." May had a big heart, but this was one of the times Peter wasn't exactly happy about that.
"Great." He didn't sound very excited, not that he was trying very hard. (Y/N) glowered at him as May gave him a look.
"I thought you two got along."
"We do," (Y/N) assured her, then turned her pointed gaze to Peter. "Right Pete?" The way she said it just made him uncomfortable, like a villain who was pretending to be friendly. But, to make May happy and keep the peace, he nodded.
"Great!" The older woman looked down at her watch. "Supper will be ready in 30 minutes, so why don't you get set up in Peter's room?" She directed (Y/N) over to the right door as the boy ran his hands through his hair, exasperated. He needed to get out of the house.
(Y/N) didn't notice her roommates disappearance, not that she would've cared anyways. She got set up in the top bunk, throwing the bins that were resting on it to the floor. It was nothing personal, not to her anyways. Flash hated Peter for some unknown reason, and since she was friends with him, she just kinda went along with it. It was kinda fun considering Peter never fought back or defended himself, which part of her thought was really weird. Maybe he didn't have any comebacks.
She joined May for supper, chatting up the older lady and having a great time, surprisingly. She didn't think it would be possible. I mean, she was going to Peter's house to stay the week, she wasn't exactly thrilled, but it was what her parents wanted and she always liked May's company, so here she was. May made a passing comment about being disappointed Peter didn't join, but (Y/N) wasn't bothered. She assumed he snuck out to avoid spending as much time with her as possible, and honestly she was okay with that.
After supper she chose to get comfortable in her new bedroom for the week, and got cozy in her bed reading a book. After a few hours, Peter came back, closing the door quietly and carefully putting his backpack in the corner. It was completely zipped up, and he double checked that before he left it. (Y/N) watched him, paying no more interest to him than a fly that just happened to catch her attention.
