Where Love and Hate Collide

There's a mention of the Stark internship in here so I recommend you imagine this one as Homecoming Spider-man but it's your choice.

You loathed him. You glared in his direction as you chewed on your salad, wishing you could use the fork in your hand to stab his eyeballs. The thought brought a twisted smile on your face but it quickly fell when he looked over in your direction. You could see his shoulders fall in a sigh all the way from the other side of the cafeteria. You gave him one last nasty look before turning your eyes to your food.

Peter didn't understand what (Y/N)'s problem was. She had no reason to hate him, at least not that he could come up with. It was a regular occurrence for him to feel the glare of the girl on his back during lunch. He would've tried talking to her but he felt he'd only be met with a rude remark and a slap to the face from her ponytail as she spun to walk away.

The bell rang and the students all gathered their things to head to class. You dumped the rest of your salad in the trash and headed to your locker after sending another chilling look Peter's way. You know he received it because his head snapped to you with an annoyed look plastered on his face. A smirk made its way onto yours as you exited the cafeteria.

It wasn't long before the last class periodーa study hallーcame around. You happened to be in the same classroom as Peter, and while you held a thick book in your hand, you alternated between glaring at him and reading the inciting story opened before you. He met your eyes once with a crease in his brows and a look in his eyes clearly reading 'stop'. You just smirked and turned the page.

At about 5 minutes before class ended Peter went up to the teacher to ask to go to the bathroom. The teacher nodded and Peter went out the door after scooping up all his stuff. You rolled your eyes, knowing full well that he was just trying to get out of school early. Sure the hallways were packed with couples making out and sweaty boys talking about the game coming up and popular girls gossiping up a storm but you got used to it.

With nothing better to do, you got up to follow after him. With 3 minutes left of class you don't even bother asking the teacher for permission, he doesn't care anyways. Out in the hall you don't spot him so you head for your locker to put away your stuff and head outside. Once outside you look around the neatly trimmed but trampled front lawn, but the boy is nowhere to be seen.

Frowning, you sigh. Oh well, he's a weirdo anyways. You head for home and unshoulder your backpack to take a snack out as you go. You didn't live in the nicest parts of town but you'd say you have a pretty mean glare (just ask Parker) so most of the thugs stayed away.

You turned a street corner into the darker side of town only to immediately be met by a punch to the face. You stumbled back in shock while a nasty-looking guy approached with a sickening grin on his face. You put up your fists and narrowed your eyes at him but he didn't seem the least bit fazed. He walked in a slow circle around you and you turned to constantly face him.

Then someone grabbed your backpack and threw you into a wall, jarring you and giving them enough time to start landing blow after blow into your stomach. After a particularly harsh knee to the gut, you collapsed. Your head felt heavy, the pain was everywhere, and through half-consciousness you heard gravelly laughter above you. Your vision was swimming as you peered up at them, their chiding sounding muffled like it came from underwater.

You struggled to get your feet under you, and somehow you managed to do it, but once you were on your feet, one of them smashed their fist into your forehead and sent your head flying back into the wall. You fell to your knees, one hand on the back of your head and the other on the ground so you didn't fall forward.
