It just kinda happened. You didn't mean for it to, in fact, if you knew the guilt you were feeling now you would've done everything in your power to avoid the outcome. But maybe it was because you felt the need to give him a thank you gift, or maybe it was because you couldn't stop yourself, or maybe you weren't thinking clearly, but maybe, perhaps, it was all of those reasons.

You cheated on your boyfriend with Spider-man.

You had been going home from school when you were attacked, and the superhero had saved you. You were still reeling from the trauma and didn't think twice when he tried to kiss you. Without even pausing to think about what you were doing, you kissed back.

It was only when you were back in the safety of your home did you remember you were dating somebody already, and you just cheated on him. You felt awful for the next week, but you couldn't tell him! He was already basically an outcast at school and you couldn't bring yourself to make him feel worse when you told him you cheated on him.

But the guilt inside you nearly ate you alive, and today you decided you'd tell him. You told Peter you had something to tell him after school, and to meet you beside a tree in the front of the school. As the day progressed you got really nervous. Should you buy him something to reassure him you still want to be with him? Should you block any means of escape so he can't leave before you're done explaining?

Then the final bell rang and you were free from the prison that was school. You headed to the spot by the tree, and not a minute later Peter showed up.

"I was thinking we should go somewhere more private," you said. "How about my place?"

"Alright." He followed you to your car, and after you both hopped in, you drove to your place. You were agitated, and you were pretty sure Peter noticed. Your suspicion was confirmed when he asked "Are you ok?"

"Yeah, perfectly fine," you flashed a fake smile, which he noticed but said nothing about. After pulling into your garage, you popped open your door, grabbed your backpack from the backseat, and headed inside. You passed your mom in the kitchen, and she looked up when she noticed your boyfriend.

"What are you two doing?" She was somewhat suspicious as you headed for your room.

"Studying, we got a big test coming up this Friday," you lied without a second thought. As soon as your door was closed and you set your bag on your swivel chair, Peter faced you.

"We don't have a test Friday."

"I know, I just don't want my mom thinking we're doing anything she wouldn't approve of," you sent him a look before plopping down on your bed and crossing your legs. He took a seat beside you, tilting his head to show you he was ready for what you had to tell him. "Now, promise you won't leave before I'm done talking?"

"Promise."

"Ok..." You sucked in a big breath to steel yourself, feeling your insides squirm. You felt awful but weren't exactly comfortable telling him either. Maybe you shouldn't do this.

"(Y/N)?" He leaned a little closer and your eyes snapped back to him.

"I cheated on you," you said it so fast you weren't sure if he could understood you. "Now before you leave, yelling about how you want to break up, let me explain!" You held up your hands, ready to push him back onto the bed if he tried to stand up. You were speaking frantically now; the expression on his face showed you how much your confession hurt him. "I was being mugged and Spider-man showed up, and he saved me. I wasn't thinking clearly and he kissed me. I didn't pull away, but I should've. I'm sorry!"

Peter had calmed down and was now smiling like he knew something you didn't. You expected a much worse reaction, so you were confused. "What?" You asked.

"I was worried you actually cheated on me," he smiled.

"What? But I did!" Kissing someone that isn't your boyfriend is cheating, right?

"Can you keep a secret?" He leaned closer. You leaned forward as well and nodded. He moved to whisper in your ear. "I'm Spider-man."

"No way," you breathed, pulling back.

"I would prove it to you but, um, my suits back at home," he shrugged, still smiling. You put a hand over your heart and fell back onto your back.

"That is such a relief. I was worried I kissed, like, Flash or something." Now that you thought about it, kissing Peter and Spider-man felt the same. You didn't understand how you didn't make that connection earlier.

"It took you a week to tell me," he hovered over you, a teasing smile on his face.

"Well I'm sorry," you crossed your arms. "I just didn't want to lose you." He grinned and bent down to kiss you, and you happily kissed back, pulling him closer. One of his hands ran up and down your side while the other kept him from falling on top of you. You ran your hands through his hair, smiling into the kiss until you heard your door open.

Peter jumped away as you sat up quickly. Your mom stood there with her arms crossed, leaning against the doorway.

"Uh-huh, studying," she said sassily. You blushed and looked away. "Something tells me you don't have a test on Friday."

"We do," Peter piped up. "We just got...distracted."

"I can see that. (Y/N), your door needs to stay open, and please, don't scar your younger brother." Your little brother's room was right next to yours, and if he came out while you were making-out with Peter, he'd beーas your mom put itーscarred.

"We won't," you sighed.

"Good." Your mom turned to leave, but when she was almost out of sight, she turned back around. "Happy studying," she smiled before leaving.

Peter walked over to the door and started to shut it when you stopped him. "What are you doing?"

"She said it needed to be open. She didn't say how far open it had to be," he grinned. You smirked as he stopped the door so there was only a small crack between the door and doorway before turning back to you.

"I heard that Peter!" Your mom shouted, making you both freeze. "The door has to be wide open." He let out a groan before going to fix it.
