This is short, written in (maybe) less than an hour, and not the greatest.

A new school, a new start. You were quiet, pretty shy, introverted, so is it any surprise you really didn't make any friends the first week? A couple girls approached you to welcome you, a couple guys offered to help you with homeworkーthough the ones you could tell weren't nerds wouldn't know how to help, you guessedーand the teachers were friendly, but you couldn't call anyone your friend.

You did meet one kid, he was only in a few of your classes, but he was really smart and cute. You'd go up and talk to him if you weren't so quiet. You'd probably just manage a shy "Hi" before you raced out of there with a blush. His name was Peter if you remembered correctly.

This particular day after school, you had stayed to get a little help from the math teacher on today's lesson. You didn't really understand it, so you had him explain everything again. It helped and you got your homework done with him, so that was a huge plus, but you still had to get home, eat supper, and finish your science and history homework.

You weren't worried about any sleazy guys doing anything to you, so you chose to put earbuds in your ears and walk home. You listened to one of your favorite artists and nodded along to the beat, closing your eyes as you got lost in the instruments and vocals.

What you failed to notice as you crossed the street was the taxi speeding towards you. The driver was paying as much attention as you were, but unlike you, they noticed you when they were within 10 feet of your body. Their honk went unnoticed, so they tried to swerve, but it was immediately obvious you were going to get hit.

You saw the yellow car out of the corner of your eye and turned to face it, gasping in shock. The gasp was all you were able to get out before it rammed into you. You squeezed your eyes shut automatically, but when you felt the wind in your hair, you opened your eyes to look around.

You were sailing through the air, a strong arm was wrapped around you protectively, and the taxi behind you had skidded to a halt. The person inside breathed a sigh of relief and shouted "Thank you Spider-man!" Spider-man? You faced the person holding you to see a mask with white eyes; your eyes traveled down to a blue and red outfit.

Just then you realized you were still in the air and quickly wrapped your arms around him. Your earbuds rested on your shoulders and bounced around as the wind hit them. This man must've clashed with you when trying to save you so you thought you got hit by the car.

Then Spider-man landed on a roof and set you down. You took a step back and inhaled as your brain caught up with what happened.

"Are you ok?" He asked, sounding like a teenage boy.

"I think so," you took a few breaths of air to make sure you were good. "Thank you," you sent him a small smile.

"No problem. Ya new around here?"

"Yes, actually," you rubbed your arm. Was it obvious? "Who are you?"

"Your friendly neighborhood Spider-man." You were fairly certain he was smiling.

"Well, Spider-man," it felt weird to say. "Thank you again for saving me, but I should probably go." He pointed to the fire escape and you backed up towards it.

"No problem (Y/N)," he saluted you and stepped back to hop off the roof when you stopped him.

"Wait, how do you know my name?"

"You...told me it." Then he was gone. You didn't remember telling him it, but you ignored that and carefully climbed down the fire escape. You were never going to listen to music on your walk home again. You doubted Spider-man would be there next time fast enough to save you, and you'd really rather not know what it felt like to get hit by a car.

It had been a month since that time and you'd become friends with the cute boy Peter. Turns out you didn't have to visit the math teacher anymore because Peter was able to help you. You'd be lying if you said you didn't look forward to after school visits to his house so he could help you with math.

It happened while you were walking home from school that you walked across the road where you nearly got splattered. Your mind wandered back to when Spider-man saved you and you felt yourself smile. You'd seen him a couple times since then, and whenever you did you'd always smile. At your old town you didn't have a neighborhood superhero, and you rather liked having one. It always felt like there was someone looking out for you.

While you were thinking of the hero, you were walking towards a train track for the little tram thing that went around town. You hadn't been here long enough to ever ride it, and as such didn't know what it was called, but you never would if you didn't snap out of it and notice your surroundings.

Feeling something grab your back, you were tugged backwards just in time to avoid getting splattered by the train. You fell onto your back and rolled back onto your feet. A look of confusion covered your face as you felt your back for what grabbed you, knowing if it had been a person they'd be next to you. A web.

"You really need to pay more attention to where you're going," you heard Spider-man say teasingly behind you. You got to your feet and faced him with a smile, but froze when you saw Peter standing there. He was smiling until he realized he wasn't dressed as the hero.

"How...?"

"Um," he murmured, putting his hands behind his back so you couldn't see his web shooters.

"How did you do that?" You gaped. His eyes scanned the area to see no one looking your way, so he shot a web at you and pulled you into his arms. You blushed at the sudden contact as he looked around nervously.

"You can't tell anyone, alright?" His words confirmed what you were suspecting.

"You're Spider-"

"Shhhhh," he put a hand over your mouth and you shut right up. "And yes, I am."

"That's so cool," you gushed quietly. Your friend was the awesome hero you had admired since you met him? You would've been speechless if it weren't for the excitement bubbling inside you, forcing words out of your mouth. Unknowingly, you started speaking louder. "I mean, I probably should've noticed that since your voice is so similar, but I guess I just didn't think about that because I was kinda focused on math, for the most part, but-" He cut you off with a kiss. You squeaked, not responding in time before he pulled away.

His eyes were filled with panic as you shot him a pleasantly surprised but still confused look. Maybe he had been reading too many books, and perhaps it should've been obvious that cutting you off in that way would have a very undesirable result. He nearly groaned out loud at his mistake.

"I, uh, like you too," you managed to say, your face turning red as you looked down at your shoes.

"Wait, what?" His puzzlement caused you to panic just like he had earlier.

"Oh, I- uh, just thought you liked me because, ya know, you kissed me and, um, that's usually a sign that you like someone, and..." you stopped yourself when you realized you were rambling on. "Do you...not like me?" You met his big brown eyes with nervous (E/C) orbs.

"Yes." Your face fell. "I mean no!" You looked back up. "I mean, yes I like you," he played with his fingers. "Sorry, it's just, you can say no by answering yes and say yes by answering no." You let out a short laugh and stepped forward. You told him through your wide, sparkling eyes you'd like him to kiss you, but because you were too shy you wouldn't get up on your toes and kiss him yourself. He noticed this, and after sending you a crooked smile, he leaned down and pressed his lips softly against yours.
