Hey! I haven't been active for a while (oops), and I'll be honest: I'm not super big about writing right now so don't expect a whole lot of updates. I know, I'm sorry, but I'm just letting you know before I go another month without updating (I feel bad about that).

"...and I'm into true crime as much as anyone, but she seems...a little too into it," you said honestly, shrugging.

"She does like to spout random murderer facts," Ned agreed.

"So?" Peter had his arms firmly crossed, looking uncomfortable.

"I'm just saying if you end up dead, I'll know why." It was a joke, not a very good one at that, but unfortunately it didn't ease the tension much and instead caused Peter's frown to deepen. You sighed. "But I get it, it's not like you can choose who you like." Ned gave you a sympathetic look. You may've accidentally let it slip that you liked Peter and he'd been trying to hook you two up since. Too bad Peter was totally in love with MJ.

"So are you going to help me or not?" That was the question that started this discussion while all three of you were rebuilding one of Ned's Lego Star Wars ships. You were in Ned's room, which was honestly more of a Lego exhibit than actual living space. The Death Star hung from the ceiling with plenty of ships surrounding it. One of those ships had fallen and broken apart so that's what you were fixing.

"I'll do my best," you promised, offering a smile to ease his tense body. His arms uncrossed as you leaned back on your hands. "So what shall we start with? Dating etiquette? Compliments? Pick-up lines?" You couldn't hide your grin as Ned snickered.

Peter fiddled with his hands. "Actually, I was thinking you could give me some pointers on how to impress her."

"You want her to see you?" You squinted. "I thought you hung out a lot at school."

"Well yeah, technically, but she just thinks I'm a hormonal teenage nerd."

"Which you are-" He sent you a look. "-but that's beside the point. Girls love caring guys, so show you care. Get her a gift, tell her she's pretty, ask about her day, just something to show her she's on your mind." He nodded, quickly grabbing a pad and paper to write that down. "Maybe study up on Jack the Ripper to impress her with your knowledge."

"Ooo wait! I've got an idea." You both turned to Ned. "What if you two pretended to date?" You were already putting your face in your hands before he finished.

"What?" Peter blinked, looking back and forth between his two friends.

"It's a proven way to make her jealous. I see it in movies all the time."

"How many times has it worked?"

"Every single one." Ned smiled confidently. His wingmanning was going perfectly.

After a long pause, you sighed and looked at Peter. "It's your call. I'm game either way."

"We wouldn't actually be dating," he laughed nervously, "and you'd be able to show me the ropes along the way, right?"

"You bet." Why were you agreeing to this?

"Alright," he said after a moment. "Let's do it!"

Considering you'd only been out with two different guys in your time, you didn't think you were as qualified to teach someone how to date as your friends thought you were. But then again, that was more action than both of them had gotten combined so...

Your hand bumped into Peter's as he looked away from you. You wouldn't pass up this golden opportunity but it was going to hurt so much worse when he finally worked up the courage to ask MJ out. Putting on a smile, you bumped his shoulder.
