In this we're pretending Liz didn't have to move after the events of the movie.

You were invited to a party, not necessarily an odd occurrence considering your status at school. You weren't popular but you definitely weren't unpopular, and basically everyone at school was a friend of yours, including Peter Parker.

Peter was a pretty cool kid, one of those cute guys that you just have to love if you get to know 'em. NedーPeter's best friendーwas smart and helped you plenty of times on homework. You remember one specific time when he did an entire worksheet for you because you didn't have time, and you made sure to repay him for that.

Being close to the two meant you knew about Peter's crush on Liz, and when you finally figured out why you always felt jealousy whenever he mentioned her, you avoided her for the most part. There was no guarantee you wouldn't 'accidentally' hurt her if you were too close, and you knew Peter would hate you if you did anything to her.

So you went about your life envying a girl and wishing you could trade places with her. Most of the time you tried to distract yourself by hanging with your other friends and being goofy, but at night when it was just you in your room and nothing but the crickets outside your window filling your ears, your thoughts consumed you.

You tried plenty of times to get over your measly crush on the boy, but it just didn't work. Your heart wouldn't cooperate.

At one point Ned let you in on Peter's secret, on accident of course. He thought you already knew, so when he mentioned Peter going to save New York, you asked him what he meant. The words "Peter's Spider-man" slipped out before he could stop them. As soon as said spider showed up for the study date you were all having, you casually asked him about it. After glaring at Ned, he confirmed that yes he was the new hero.

Anyway, back to the party you were invited to. It was at a fellow close friends house and you were allowed to bring Peter and Ned with, which you did. If you knew Liz was there you might've reconsidered, but you didn't so you brought them.

Pulling up in your new car you just got from your parents, your friends' jaws dropped as you kicked open the door and stepped out dramatically. "You never told us you had a sweet ride!" One of them called.

"I didn't either until tonight," you pushed your door shut with your foot and faced Ned and Peter. "Have fun and don't talk science with anyone but the nerds."

"We know (Y/N)," Ned sighed.

"I told you that last time and you droned on for an hour to a poor girl who didn't even go to our school," you shot him a look.

"I thought she was interested in what I was saying!"

"There's a difference between interest and fake interest so you don't offend someone."

"Come on, let's go," Peter led the way into the house and your friends huddled around you as you all entered. They told you the latest gossip as you kept your eyes on your friends. Ned always stayed by Peter's side because they were sorta the nerdy duo and not many associated with them. You would stay with your buddy if you were in their place after all.

"Any good food here?" You asked Tyler, a friend since first grade. Tyler nodded and led you away to the table, pointing at the few things that were terrible. You both had a very distinct list of foods you'd eat at parties, and all of them were sweets.

"I think the brownies are so much better than that last party we went to," he commented, grinning.

"No way, I don't even think that's possible," you crossed your arms. He put a hand on his hip sassily.
